Thread sealant used in nitrous kits......?

I have a Nitrous express wet kit that I will be installing soon(for a 99 GT). There is a small tube of red "thread sealant" in the kit. Is this just red loctite? Just asking incase I need to buy more. If it isnt red loctite...what can I use? The manual says not to use teflon tape. Also, should all of the connections be sealed?

New to nitrous, so sorry if this is a dumb question!

Yes, it is just loctite. I used liquid teflon on some of the connections, not all.

Should I use sealant for the bottle pressure valve? Any advice on the other connections would be appreciated. Don't want any leaks! Thanks

the red stuff you mention is called loctite 545 and its a sealant not a thread locker, you should use it on all your fittings to prevent leaks.

Permatex also makes an equivalent:

I was reading in my Sean Hyland book that Teflon tape will find its way to places you don't want Teflon tape to be so that's why the manual says don't use it.

Thanks for clarifying the Loctite 545........I was thinking threadlocker!

I opened those links....damn its expensive!

you can just use Teflon paste that's what I use.

the link i posted was for a big bottle, you can probably find the small tubes at autozone or such.
