Default Vortech Much Louder After Dynotune

I had my car sct dyno tuned last week after putting on long tubes, Prochamber, aftercat, and a 3.73 gear and when I got the car back the Vortech V2 s-trim is making 5 times as much noise all through the rpm's. I called Vortech and they said I could send it in to have them check it out but I was wondering if anyone may have any ideas of what may be going on.

I'm kinda bummed out cuz I was all excited about the new mods just to get a big problem it seems.

Is it just louder or is it a different sound?

It used to make a slight wine at idle but it was quiet the rest of the time. Now it is a louder wine all the time. Quite loud. I took the belt off and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the blower that I can feel or hear when turning the pulley.

I know it's only got 200 miles on it. After I took it off I turned the pulley slowly and could feel some abnormal resistance. Bummer

sounds like a shop fault to me. Did you look at the prepeller and see if it was bent, chiped, broke or anything. Maybe some debree caught up in it. Might just be a bearing. the v2sq are normally pretty quite even when psi is cranked up on them.

Yeah but they said they didn't do anything to the blower. It's still under warrenty so Vortech should take care of it. I hope.

ok here you go...i have a vortech, and im almost positive i know what sound you're talking about mine makes it every morning...you must make sure that they not push the car if the car was not warmed up..when the car is not warmed up there is no oil inside of the blower to help the lubrication...so most likely there are some bent impeller teeth in there..but good thing you still have that warranty on it..as long as you didnt changethe pulley you're good to go..they'll send you a brand new one..

How can a shop that tunes the car be at fault????If they installed it yes.Just tuning it NO..

One thing to remember also vortechs have to break in like other parts do..My T trim when new was pretty quiet but after a few hundred miles as it loosened up.Got louder.

Maybe one of the guys at the shop not playing with a full deck of cards decided to start it up and take it for a joy ride without warming it up.
