Default v6 with nitrous Qs

So I'm thinking about nitrous for the v6.

02 v6, 58 thousand miles on it, all stock aside from a set of replacement headers, and a dual exhaust. Automatic.

http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store...?idproduct=100

Is what I'm looking at. Spraying between 50-75 shot..

I don't know if I need to be tuned on something like that, or if a tune will help me out for more horsepower.

Will also get a bottle heater with it, and a purge kit. Just need a little direction.

A tune will certainly help to make more power once you are running nitrous but it is not necessary, but certainly recommended.

Looks good for a base cheaper kit. Since its a wet kit honestly like i tell people for modest shots under 100hp its not totally needed to get tuned as the stock ford tunes are very conservative. Its a good idea if you want to and possibly like he said more power could be had but its not totally needed.

My freinds old 00v6 with shift kit 100shot and 4.10s went 13.9@101. Could of been faster if he actully took care of his car. with that and your mods i would think you can touch high 13's aswell. assuming you can get the power down with a one tire fire. Have fun! let us know how it goes.

well since its an 02 your going to need a tune anyhow to fix the speedo from the gears.

Indeed but on those tunes can't I just pre-order it? With a nitrous tune won't I have to get on the dyno?

Ah well an over the counter nitrous tune is ify to me, but if you must i would do it from the v6 tuning man justin at vmptuning.com im pretty sure his nitrous tunes he takes the stock tune for lightly modded cars like yours and just puts the timing back to stock and gives it a hair of fuel.

Where do you live? Aren't you from San Diego? I don't know if you want to make the drive but Greg at RET in my hometown of Downey is the best tuner in so cal. Don't believe me spend 5 minutes searching through any so cal section especially termi boards.

Oh I must be thinking of someone else then. Well Greg is only like 2 hours away lol. If you have any other questions regaurding juice and our sixer just let me know.

I have a 99 auto with 4.10's, dual exhaust, CAI, and a dyno tune. I'm about to go from a 75 to a 100 shot very soon.

Sweet man. Is Downey in southern california? Not 100% sure where it is.

What sort of setup are you using?

I've got a 02 Automatic, I'm just looking for something to run safely.

Yea Downey is about 15 minutes East of Long Beach. But I'm mostly in Northridge since I go to school and run track out there for CSUN.

I'm running an NX mainline kit with a dyno tune purge, Dynotune HO bottle heater (the black one), Fuel pressure safety switch, Blow down tube, and two pressure gauges one on the bottle and one in the a pillar. I also have the cheap autometer a/f gauge that is getting replaced with an AEM wideband unit very soon.

Oh and my car has ran a best of 8.9 in the 1/8 mile @ 80.xx so far. That's abotu a 13.9 ish in the 1/4. And that's full weight (subs, spare tire etc) and not touching tire pressure on huge 18x9" chrome bullits on the front and 18x10" dd chrome bullits on the back.

Just about any wet kit is good enough for what you will probably throw at it. Just make sure you have some colder plugs gapped correctly a fuel pressure safety switch and a tune. With that stuff you're as safe as you can get without going to a direct port set-up or not running nitrous at all.

The mainline kit is pretty cheap since it doesn't come with a lot of the extras that the normal NX kit does. It's a good kit up to about a 100 shot or so. After that you need some better solenoids.

Oh almost forgot make sure you have a WOT switch very important you don't want to be spraying at a closed throttle body.
