supercharger question

i am thinking about buying a supercharger down the road. probably sometime after christmas for my 2002 v6 mustang. when i buy it do i have to upgrade my transmission because someone told me if i buy a supercharger that i will need to upgrade my transmission because v6 auto transmission can handle that much power. so is that right. and if not like i said eailer is there anything else that i should upgrade if i decide to buy a supercharger

umm... im a 02 v6 auto as well. I've looked into blowers and stuff also. I don't think its the tranny I think it might be the gears..you'll want to go with like 3:73s or 4:10s on your gears..

you don't need to upgrade the transmission for a supercharger, however you should switch to a GT 8.8 rear end to handle the power, the V6 may hold but the GT rear would be a much smarter choice.

if you arent going to use sticky tires (slicks and or Dr's) you dont need a 8.8 for your car. Plus its an auto so its easier on the rear end. I would do some sort of valve mod mod to the tranny along with a tranny cooler and then do either 4.10 gear sor 3.73's with a ford t-lok (there name for posi) and your good to go.

Is the ford t-lock very durable? I herd that it wasnt on a different thread. If it will is im cool with it cause the other one i was looking at cost quite a bit more.

Yes its good, thats what I have in my car. Get a cobra one, or find a used one and repack it with the kevlar clutches.

were talking about the 7.5" rear end. The t-lok will be fine in your 7.5 with a blower on street tires. Hell teal beast has his 7.5 with 3.73's and a t-lok and makes 388rwhp.

I think a maybe 300rwhp car will be fine with the t-lok and gears out back. Trust me if you have no need to drag race or use sticky tires dont worry about the 8.8 swap. An auto car is soo much easier on the rear end then a manual.

only mods you need ar ethe supporting fuel mods (pump + injectors) Like spike said, a Jmod and cooler and your GTG.

Justin is going 10's on almost a stock Auto.
