Zex bottle heaters

I've heard they're good pieces from some people do you guys agree. Just spent $70 shipped for one. Seems like a nice deal to me. Comments?

70 shipped is cheap... is it an automatic bottle heater?

Yea, in fact to my knowledge ZEX only makes an auto heater. There's is controlled by thermostats though unlike some others that control it through monitering actual line pressure.

Cuban, thats a heck of a deal!! I have always used the ZEX bottle heater and they have always worked great...not as good as a torch but still very good.

Cool about how long does it take to get your bottle pressure up?

JayC 10-20-2006 04:37 PM

It's a POS (I know I had one)....it will never hold your bottle in the 'sweet" zone. Pass on it and get a NX or Dynotune:flamed:

Well we'll see how it works out if it doesn't work it's just $70.

I've told you how it works.......you'll see 900, maybe 950psi then the damn thing will shut off on you....good luck when the bottle gets a little low:shakeno:

900-950 I'm happy with. Deffinitly better then what I'm seeing without a heater. And even if I did want more you can swap out the T-stats to go up to as high as 1050psi.

jeredan2003 10-20-2006 06:31 PM

Yea the zex cuts off at 900psi. I love my NX!

The t-stat is not changable or adjustable....I give up:argue:

jeredan2003 10-20-2006 08:39 PM

just get a used nx heater off ebay for next to nothing.Youll make more power with a different heater...

cuban3jumper 10-21-2006 01:48 AM

So what you're telling me is that this bottle heater will keep my pressure at 900-950. That's all I want I'm happy with that. And for $70 can't beat that with a stick.

Incase you haven't noticed this isn't a race car.

Blk02stang 10-21-2006 08:24 AM

Thats funny, i've never had my ZEX heater cut off with only 900-950psi. I straight hardwired it and it would bring the pressure up to 1200 or more depending on how long i left it on.

Yea they sell torque converters and I think clutches too. But I'm going to stick to my NGK TR6 plugs. I don't really like Zex all in all. But I will say this the bottle heater is working pretty well for me.
