Nitrous system for 2001 V6? Available?

Hello, I'm new here but have done some reading in the past, this seemed like the best place to ask this question:

I have a 2001 V6 Coupe that I bought used a few months ago. I've been keeping a close eye on its performance and looking ou for indications it might have been mistreated but so far it seems to be the smoothest-running car I've ever driven. My birthday's coming up and I have some money saved and I'd like to buy myself a nitrous system. Something small, like the smallest available. I don't do street racing and have never had it above 90mph, I just want to have a little fun with it. Maybe someday take it to a track and run some tracks for fun.

It is full factory stock, down to the oil filter. No upgrades as of yet.

What I need to know is if it's been done before, what's involved in making sure I don't burn it up, and precautions to take. Like I said, I'm not going for 150moh racing, just a little tread-wasting fun.

Thanks in advance

I'de stay away from Nitrous on a stock car. And if you dont really plan on racing it much i wouldnt go for the Nitrous. Look into a Cold-air intake, Exhaust kit, gears and T-loc. Maybe a SCT xcal 2 tuner also. With those mods you would feel a heck of a difference over completely stock, plus be able to brun a lil rubber off with the gears and t-loc when you want. In the long run the Nitrous gets expensive when you get the taste of instant power and always wanna spray it. I'de look into bolt on mod's before a nitrous kit.

**** that! Get juice you'll love it...I do LOL.

Of course the only bolt-ons I have are good supporting mods for nitrous. If you're wondering I have 4.10's with a frpp t-lok, BBK CAI, gt take-off duals. Oh and the 75 shot coming from a nx mainline kit.

It's always a good idea to start off small and see if you really like modding so in the end I guess I agree with blk but if you like to run your car, occasionaly, like me nitrous is the best. Now if you're going to run the **** out of your car then get a more "constant" power adder: supercharger or a turbo.

Why wouldnt you spray a stock car?

A simple 50shot from any manufactor (i would highly recomend a wet kit for easy of use and no injector upgrades needed). You can run that with no mods at all. A set of colder spark plugs like NGK TR6's would be a cheap investment as spraying on platnium plugs is a no no.

For a novice like you i think ZEX would be your best bet. while it isnt the hardest hitting or power producing kits they are pretty safe and easy to install. Perfect for first timers and novices to nitrous.

Also power adde questions belong in the power adder section please...
