I've thought several times about getting a pair of cams but after looking at the big picture....I think cams for a stock block 2 valve running nitrous is not a good investment....here's why. With a stock block you're limited to ~ 400 RWHP if you want the motor to live any time at all. So you can install a nice pair of cams for ~$1000 (estimate based on cams, springs, labor etc.) and get to that magic 400 mark using a 100 shot. I decided to install a #62 nitrous jet for $5.95 and now have 423/553 at the rear wheel. Now a good tune is necessary either way......so you decide if I'm right or convice me otherwise

I say stick with the nitrous! Less hassle and you can have that 400hp whenever you want it. Also it's cheaper IMO. Last week at the track a guy had a '03 gt with a KB on 9lbs and was running 8.4's non stop. I asked him how much he'd invested...$5k. I spent $200 between exhaust and a little Nitrous and run 8.3's.........I'm say stick to the Nitrous all the way on a good tune.

#62 is a big jet....Isnt that a 150 shot? I am running a #52? jet for my 100 shot. Id say you would probably get more benefit from cams in the end because youve added N/A power instead of just more on the spray. I guess it all depends on wht you want out of the car. If your just looking for faster times, then go with more spray.
You could also try playing with that smaller shot some more. I mean you could add the plate to it, instead of the nozzle. It may or may not improve times. I think it would. I found that the car pulls harder using short hard lines from the solenoids to the plate, instead of the long braided. You could add a progressive controller that wouldnt make full power until higher rpms. That way you could run a bigger shot without putting so much stress on the motor.

...wait..so you have been running the 150 shot? then you must be already using the #62 jet then...because thats what you need to run the 150 shot...according to NX anyway
