The SCOTUS has struck down as unconstitutional the handgun bans of Chicago and Oak Park Il. Score one for freedom.

True political power is derived from a mandate from the masses. That being the case Government does so with and by the consent of the governed. The governed must therefore have the means to effectively and permanently abolish that Government and establish a new one. The normal path to that is political however, if and when that fails I'm sure everyone will suddenly come to terms with the real meaning of the 2nd amendment. It's not about hunting, or competition. It's about fear. Fear of the masses held by a ruling body tends to keep them from grasping for too much more power. Fear of a ruling body by the masses should never be a problem in a well armed society.

I have never understood passing laws in an attempt to control people who do not obey laws. The only people that gun control laws affect are people who obide by the law. Criminals will get guns one way or another, don't punish the responsible. We can try to make it harder for criminals to get guns, but it only takes one gun, one bullet. Ban guns, ban knifes, rocks, sticks. If I want to kill you, I'll get it done with whatever I have available. The court got this one right.

krenogin 06-28-2010 07:49 PM

I tell ya, I'm keepin my guns no matter what. Times like this you dont know whats gonna happen next, and without em, i feel as helpless as anyone else.

I cant imagine what it feels like, not to own a gun.

Recon111 12-04-2010 07:10 AM

The supreme court did the constitutional thing but I'm not sure it was the right thing. If any of you ever been to Chicago, Detroit, LA, New York, They really should ban guns.
I have always owned guns, I just filled the freezer with deer meat. Our law enforcement is to easy on criminals, If a guy pulls a gun on a cop there is usually several min. of, "Put the gun down" BS, when what the cop should do is shoot the guy right between the eyes, no court, no jail, no burden on society anymore. Get rid of the tazers and shoot the criminal with our 9MM (several Times). Then after all the Ash holes are gone the country would be a much better place to live.

fuck dude. knock it off with bringing them back from the fucking dead. Nobody cares about your opinion 6 months after the last comment.

BTW, as someone that would sacrifice freedom for the perception of safety or order, you deserve and shall receive as a matter of fate neither.

Using the ethos of you owning guns does nothing to stand your point on its own merits. What it does do is prove that you have not considered the cost of freedom. You only support freedom. You do not defend it.

Again, what's the difference in how old a thread is? If I or you feel like posting a reply, even a incoherent one, I guess it's ok to cuss at each other here? I spent 3 years in the Army with the 82nd, 25th inf and 4th inf Recon, radio operator. Just don't answer my post.

Because Recon resurrected a dead thread and now you are perpetuating it.

r3dn3ck 12-05-2010 11:03 AM

And I'm locking it. Like everyone I dish out a serving to he is unable to address directly the points made and simply deflects.

Everett, your first response was 100% on the money and serves to well illustrate my point.

Locking this bitch down.

Recon, thanks for your service. That aside, it is ok here to be pissed at people who haven't managed yet to learn some basic forum manners. It is considered thoroughly impolite to bring up dead threads. It's considered totally taboo to be a troll and post only in the non-subject matter sections of a subject-matter-specific forum. If you want to engage in political discussions, that's cool but at least be a good member and add to the discussion in currently living threads. When you bring old threads back all you do is rekindle old arguments and bring us closer to having a thread Godwin'd.

BTW, I don't see why cussing is a problem. If you're offended, skip over the naughty words. We do not tolerate direct attacks or threats or harassment but all else is fair play.
