thoughts on racism
So I was thinking. A news anchor stated today that black children will be more greatly inspired by Obama's victory then then any other president past becasue Obama is black. My thoughts are that if we are trying to get rid or racism isnt celebrating the achievment of one particular race racism in itself? Shouldnt these childen be equally inspired if John McCain had won? Im sure some would have been but looking at the demographic as a whole, I think we can all agree the news reporter was correct. In a perfect world black children would be equally inspired by what ever demographic won. In allowing black children to be more inspired by Obama just allows racism to fester instead of trying to end it. If black children are allowded to think this way then for every black person who does not win office in the future it will be attributed to racism and the oppression of blacks. I do not want this train of thought to focus just on blacks, I merely started there because the news reported for me thinking. In fact this train of thought applies to all races. Whites should be equally impressed by blacks, black eaqually inpressed by whites, males equally impressed by females, etc. You get the point. It seems to me that if we want to end social divides why allow ourselves or others to celebrate the accomplishments of our own demographic as greater achievments then other demographics making the same achievments.

Interesting thought... however in American history, there has never ever been a black president in office. They can celebrate that, it's a huge moment for them. I agree with you though that particular actions will only continue to define that racism is still an issue to this very day. The way they talk about this on the news though... just seems so segregating to me; with the race polls, and black and white this, and black and white that. This is a presidential election America... WTF!?!?!?

yes, it most certainly is. But in the eyes of some black ppl, you are oppressing them by saying that.

I'm sorry, and I'm sure someone will call me a racist hick.. I think blacks are far more racist than whites. For the most part, they have segragated themselves to being known as thugs, gangsta's, *****'s, (these are all words many blacks use regularly.)
The popular blacks that are idolized by them come off extremely uneducated in many ways and even when they achieve fame they never lose touch of what made them a POS before that. Examples, Michael Vick, T.I., Lil' Wayne, "Pac Man" among many, many, many more.. Not to mention the many that have come to fame because of being real life 'thugs' example: 50 cent and every member of his "G-unit" that are supposed "reformed" thugs, you can really tell by the music that they produce and represent... Right?
Now, I am not saying that all blacks are bad, and I'm sorry if it comes off that way. Simply put, the demographics play a huge role in your perception of the opposite races I'm sure that there is a totally different outlook in places like California than there is in Atlanta.
And, no I am not saying that whites are supreme, there are many blacks who are extremely respectful and are proving to be a credit to their race, unfortunately there are ten times as many that are doing all that they can to promote the "thug life" that aspire to be rappers who have naked women dancing in their music videos while they throw their fake stack of $1 bills at them..
That is just my opinion, and it is not meant to offend anyone. I have the utmost respect for every person (black, white, hispanic, asian, etc) in this world who works hard and pays their dues to make a living and pay the bills.

He Lied...
before election obama said he will make change. Now that he is the Prez, he said in a speech afterwards, quote; " Change will not come in one year, probably not in four years " WTF !!!
There you go, they all lie just to get elected.

Also, I have to agree with WNRacing. I have respect for anyone who respects others and contributes to society. Also, how can you get offended when someone of the opposite race calls you a name, but then you can turn around and use it a million times to your friend or whoever. Just doesn't make sense. I don't care what color you are and people need to stop playing the race card. Things keep getting thrown back to slavery and such. Unless you have a known relative that was a slave, you can't play that card. And I think the jews have something to be more upset about.

Thats the dumbest thing Ive ever heard.

said it before and I'll say it again: anyone that believes words spoken by politicians, especially under oath is naive and should really step back and think for a second.
Alan Keyes in 2012!

Well, he did kinda say that even if it is taken a little out of context here.. They both lied about things, all politicians are liars. He's not going to cut taxes, and there won't be any out of this world change either.
Anyway, back to the subject.

Some of the posts on here amaze me. Why shouldn't black people be proud of Obama? What the **** is wrong with that? Their ancestors went through alot more **** than most of yours, and 50 years ago the thought of a black president was a joke. They are proud that an African-American is president of the United States. Big ******* deal. Get over it. I am white and i for one cannot stand when white people try to **** on everyone else. Are we the superior race to you guys? Man some of you need a reality check.
You know, i am actually extremely proud of the African-American race for getting this far and i truly hope it inspires more. Going from where they were to a president is a big ******* deal, actually.

Dont get me wrong, i'm not racist, I HATE EVERYBODY ! ( Just kidding ) no, i'm hoping oboma can make a change, get our economy going, get the other nations who say " DEATH TO AMERICANS" to change their minds about us. And i dont care if the prez is black / white hispanic / asian, or whatever, as long as he or she has americans at interest. Because believe me people, there is a radical group of x-tremest who want to enilate the WESTERN HEMISPHERE. And they will try it, sooner or later if we can not get-a-long with other nations.
And if it ever gets to that point, we all are in deep trouble.

Yes, but where was everyone when Alan Keyes ran in 96 and 2000? He is a much more respectable man than Obama (I believe he was an ambassador?) and has accomplished more in his career than Obama ever has. Plus, unlike Obama, Keyes didn't play the race card when he wasn't nominated in either the GOP or Constitution Parties (though he did run as an independent in the end). This is not like the first a black ran for president but it is the first one did so under the Democratic Party.

Generally because Democrats - The "little" people
Republicans - Big Business, Simply put.
Anyways..
The race garbage goes both ways, however I see more hispanics and blacks throwing out "white boy" and basically making a SOLID attempt to disrespect me. They are attempting to use the "I'm poor and can't do anything about it" card as well.
And honestly...take a look at it.. what are our largest gangs? How about drug charges? Robberies?
IMO throw the race crap out the window.. and just label yourself American. If you want to have pride in your African herritage so be it, but go see your country first... notice how lousy it is compared to being here.
And Steeda, the blacks were slaves, yes. But so were the Irish, so were the Scottish, and just about every other country has been enslaved at some point or another. Some for longer periods then the blacks.
Hell, if you take a look at it, African tribes enslave OTHER AFRICAN TRIBES.
The raping, beatings, pillaging, ect is nothing new, and was nothing new when the Africans were enslaved.

all i got to say is the black were never as oppressed as the Native Americans Indians. so if the think they had it bad they need to look back in history, cause compared to my people(I'm Iroquois) they got their **** served on a golden platter while we were almost exterminated. At least they aren't required to have special id to prove who they are and to get what little benefits we get.
only thing that explains it is pure ignorance on their part. Im sorry but i dont ever see the ones who believe they deserve handouts advancing in expanding their simple minded ideologies no matter what happens that might benefit them in the future.
one thing that chaps my *** is when they say blacks cant be racist, they are the most racist race on the face of gods green earth. and one who believes that can take a .45 hydrashok to the head.

Forget that the Dems are for the "little people" and Republicans are for big business. The Dems are for you to be dependent on government to wipe your *** since they know what's best while the GOP (more specifically, Conservatives) realize that the only person that knows best is the person them-self.
