International Crisis.

Barack Obama will face an international crisis early in his presidency, Joe Biden warns, fueling Republican charges that the Democratic presidential candidate's own running mate admits Obama is a blank slate in the face of coming national security threats................. Full Story

Hear something we don't like? Ignore it!

Despite featuring the story on its "Political Radar" blog on Monday morning, the ABC network ignored for almost 24 hours............. Full Story

Chris, I think you're going to have a hard time calling this rhetoric. Right out of Biden's mouth. I guess we invite conflict now?

I completely agree with the reporter, had Palin made a comment like this or even something half as serious as this she would have been thrown so far under the bus you couldn't find her. Gotta love liberal media!

bassman97 10-22-2008 01:31 PM

NBC is doing the same thing w/ Bob Barr. They were suppose to air an interview w/ him last night but delayed it one week because "they are following his campaign and want to do a more in-depth coverage." Typical media reporting what they see fit.

However, what Biden said shows how he thinks US voters are ignorant. Vote us because Obama is going to be like Kennedy and do a better job at handling the "upcoming foreign crisis." I love how he doesn't even mention what this crisis will be. So great, the Dems are using typical fascist fear tactics to gain votes. Desperation at its best.

blah blah blah, i havent had a chance to read through it.

once again, let me say im not really for obama, im not really for mccain, im just tired of your constant stream of anti-obama stuff.

I have an pro obama signature mainly as my own protest to all your constant blabbing and blabbing about obama.

So far you have made it abundantly clear to everyone a thousand times over again that you believe him to be an Anti-american Racist Baby killing socialist with close ties to various terrorist organizations who is hell bend on destroying the foundation of our country with the help of his evil racist wife and thier evil racist socialist cult.

give it a rest

i checked the first link,

intersting read....

Im pretty sure that no matter who goes in office they will be tested by the world community, however, it doesent look like there is anything concrete about anything that will happen, just a "i garauntee you he will be tested within the first 6 months of being in office" which is not hard to predict since there is always some silly country bombing or invading somone. It is a pretty vague comment.

I think that statement would easily be interchangeable to any canidate, i doubt that the world would test Obama and not Mccain. Im pretty sure it does not matter who is in the office, somebody out there will be dumb enough to poke the new president with a stick to see how they react.

Then again, there has been a pretty grimm trend of death and destruction to anyone who pokes too hard. I serously doubt that north korea would try nuking san francisco just to see how obama would react, cause north korea would be a very quiet place for a very long time.

So the question is how will he react? and does he have enough experience if the worst case scenario happens and there is an attack on U.S. Soil?

Then the deeper quetion, is there EVER such thing as "enough experience" when something like that happens.

I dont really think any of that speaks too much about either the merits or problems with obama. prersonally i think it is a pretty damn obvious statement and it doesent matter who wins the election, they will be tested.

however, "International crisis" is a lot more likely to pull internet hits, and the more internet hits, the more they can charge for advertizing. Typical sensationalism from the press.

lol

ill check the 2nd link when i get more time.

BTW, and if Sarah Palin said this about Mccain, i wouldnt think much about it either.

i think they are taking an obvious statement and using it to scare americans to vote for Mccain

plus, Obama can handle his shit.

He actually said it would be a "Generated' International Crisis.."

I don't know, just seems like a very odd statement, especially being made by his VP running mate.

jjtgiants 10-22-2008 03:52 PM

I said I wasn't going to respond to anymore political threads, but I lied. ha ha.

I didn't read the article, but I heard something on the news about this, and Sean Hannity talking about it (see I listen to both sides. I think he's a fucking tool box, but I listen). I think what Biden said was that if Obama won he would be tested by some sort of international crisis right off the bat like JFK was with Russia/Cuba. I think that makes perfect sense to me. You know, it's just like little kids testing their limits with a new teacher or babysitter.

Do I honestly think McCain would endore that same type of test, no I don't think so. So IF IF IF Obama is elected and Iran or whoever tests him I would be willing to bet his advisors would tell him to act and act strong so it puts the rest of the world on notice that we will kick your ass if we have to.

Not sure what the issue is, but new presidents getting tested by international issues right off the bat is not a new thing. It's how that president reacts that will define his presidency......case closed, it's as simple as that.

That's exactly what it is. Both sides use these tactics to get their base to the ballot box, but the republicans have mastered the tactic since 9/11. Hey, whatever works I guess. It's getting old on both sides though.

If is a very odd statement indeed. Biden seems to have that problem where his mouth runs off without checking with his brain first...

as for Generated.. ... thats hard to figure out if there is much behind it.,.. you could almost think it would be something like North Korea bulking up force at the DMZ with the intention of appearing to gear up for an attack on the south, when in actuality they are just bulking up to see how obama responds. That is what i would expect a Generated Crisis to be. Testing the waters to see how he would react but intentioanlly refraining from hitting the point where a US retalitation be it economoical, political, or military is effectivly put into play.

One thing that is potentially a problem as i see is the constant stream of media on how Obama is not prepared for office and does not have the experience coming from the republican party.

That media being generated is bound to cause him problems by other nations as they would already look at him as inexperienced, regardless to the amount of political experience he currently has.

ok ok ok blah blah blah

The fact of the matter is politicians will say whatever it takes to elected and once in office there is nothing binding them to follow through. Once in office they will do whatever it takes to stay on top politically and financially. They are all foul, money-grubbing parasites. They have no idea wht the average American has to do in order to make ends meet, nor do they care. Until politicians are restricted to living on the average income of their constituents, with the same health and retirement benefits, there will be no changes for the middle class Americans. It really doesn't matter who is holding the office the end result is the same...we get screwed.

bassman97 10-22-2008 05:47 PM

Oh God, Hannity. I myself listen to conservative talk radio and as soon as I hear his voice, I need to change the channel. That man IS the very definition of tool box.

I agree 100% brother! I like what Abe Lincoln said... Something along the lines of this. "When a government no longer serves its people and their best intrests, then THAT government should step down and let a new one take its place". The politicians that are in power are there for personal gains only and none of em from the mayor of mine and your home town to the president of the United Fucking States give two shits about a common man or his family.

bassman97 10-22-2008 08:19 PM

True but there are some bright lights out there. For example, Congressman Linder of Georgia is doing a great job of sacrificing one of government's best tools for manipulation (the income tax) for the FairTax, which makes it impossible for government to manipulate the tax system to benefit certain groups (unless Congress turns it into the mess we have now, which was a flat tax only 20 years ago). However, it is sad to say that no one in government cares what the hell happens, as long as they get to rule.
