Lets do our own poll of how our members will vote. We will do another as major political events happen. As you know both runners have picked their running mates. No one will know who you vote for how so be honest.

You may discuss your reason why you voted the way you did at this time. As you know your mind may change before the elections and if it does feel free to discuss. We will do several polls before the election.

I would vote for Obama just so the Dems would STFU, something new would be nice. I don't feel that McCain could do much better than Bush. I don't follow it enough to really put in a educated vote. In the end I would probably vote for McCain but I don't feel strongly one way or the other.

We are tranfering too much wealth to other countries. We need bigger tax breaks for companies that keep their business in the US. I want more of my money in my pocket so I can spend it on our economy not for the governmet to spend it for me.

McCain Palin are ready to change and have demostrated that they will go against the good old boys in Washington by their past actions. Obama has not demostrated anything except his promise of change which is a kind of dumb as change is constant so how do you promise something thats constant. Change is going to happen reguardless of who is elected so vote for the one who has demostrated change not just promised it.

McCains ads against Obama are sad. Hes trying to make another election thats determined by petty and divisive political tactics.

Heres why I think McCain shouldn't be president.

He's going to continue spending money in Iraq. What is it 9-10 billion a month?
He's going to continue giving tax cuts to the wealthiest in America.
He's against stem cell research.
He's trying to take away a womans right to choose, no matter what the circumstance is.
What about equal pay for equal work?

We cannot have a third term of Bush.

Obama focuses on issues, while McCain focuses on the next attack hes going to make on Senator Obama. He can go ahead using every last dime that he gets from Washington lobbyists, its not going to work.

If the supposed wealthy dont spend money a lot of people will lose jobs. The supposed wealthy do like to piss off money on toys, replacing furniture every few years, eating out every weekend or weekday. If you do tax more of those supposed wealthy they will just not do some of those things but believe me they will still have it better than the poor you think you are helping. I believe in a hand up and not a hand out. Teach a man to fish!

Theres more middle class people than wealthy people. If we give the tax cuts to the middle class, then they'll spend more money.

thats really sad since this country has alot of current issues that this next president has to deal with. examples...the economy/housing, immigration, health care, energy crisis, both ongoing wars, Iran, poor infrastructure (bridges, roads), social security, and ridiculous college costs....and this is just to name a few of many more.

right now america is in a hole and someone needs to lead us out....along with congress of course

I must admit, I am completely ashamed of the democratic party. They have completely lost their way and lost they minds. This is supposed to be the party that stands-up for the little-guy...for the women, and for the forgotten. They are making stupid attacks against a woman and her family....they are soo pissed that the Rebs may actually now be the party for many women. And, they forget to defend the smallest person of all....the unborn.

McCain is not perfect. But his little finger is more of a man then Obama.

How dare they question Palin's ability to step in the White House when she has more executive experience then Obama, their presidential candidate. Obama is a candidate for one reason and one reason onlyl....the color of his skin. Think about it. If he were white, would he be the nominee? No! The man has no credentials to be President.

If you want to have change or be different, then waste a vote on Mickey Mouse.

I've got to be honest, I'm torn. Not the biggest McCain supporter, same deal with Obama. However, I am a fan of Palin and Biden. Can't I just vote both of them into office? This is the first time I get to vote, and the first time I can't choose.

I really hate to get into politics but here's my 2 cents. Neither candidate is truly the best we could have gotten, but we've been down this road before. There is going to be a cut off date for occupation of Iraq in 2009, more likely 2010. But I think we have to let Iraq have at it by themselves.. That's what they want overall. Americans, too are favoring the "bring our troops home" attitude.

Afghanistan is maybe another story alltogether, We should have nipped that in the bud to begin with, Maybe we should stay the course there with more troops.

Either way our economy must be an upfront issue. We need to get our american citizens back into well paying jobs that are being outsourced to cheaper labor countries.

Lets get our textile jobs back, quit buying cheap ass shit from everyone else, and put more money into education, so we can get our youth back into the high paying job market, cheap labor shouldn't be so cheap as foreign countries make it.

If you work hard everyday you should be paid well.
If you know more because you are educated, you should be paid even more.
If you can combine hard work with knowledge of your job, you should earn a decent wage.

If America can get a good balance of all of these, without too many people trying to get rich too quick, we may have a chance of being a country where everyone can live the american dream..

But we have to start at the youth level right now. Education is key.

Obama focuses on issues? Why don't you actually explain these issues he focuses on. So far every interview I've ever seen him in focuses on a bunch of "um's and but's." "Ummm, but, let me think of the word... Wait.. I got it! Change! They'll like that word! What am I going to change? Umm...."

PS. Every woman has a right to choose. Unprotected sex = Baby. Protected sex = less likely to have baby, no sex = no baby. ---I'm sure that you are going to argue the rape side, which I can understand, but that will come with time, no matter who is in office.

Also, your little BS line about "attacks on Obama." You obviously don't watch Television (or are just in some kind of serious denial). The Dems. have been executing personal attacks on Sarah Palin like nobodies business.

Can't wait for the debates, while Obama is full of "Um's and But's" McCain and Palin will be tearing him a new one! :D

I'am a McCain fan and had already planned to vote for him but after last night....WOW:eek: did Sara Palin put on a show and it seems alot of people were impressed, even the dems....after last night speech, I wondered if the ticket should read Palin/McCain;)

Palin has more executive experience than Obama, Biden, and McCain. But shes also a hypocrit for what is going on in her own family. She let her daughter make her own choice, but wants a government that decides for her? What a joke.

I don't know what your watching, but last night, all i saw was an attack squad. They lied about many things, and attacked "the little guys" for our role in the Obama campaign. They insulted the very idea that ordinary people have a role to play in our political process.

If you want specifics, Guiliani and Palin both mocked Obama's experience as a community organizer. Since when is helping out his community a bad thing? Community organizing is the foundation of the civil rights movement, the women's suffrage movement, labor rights, and the 40-hour workweek.

McCain hasn't offered one single idea, to fix our suffering middle class and fix our economy.

If America wants another term of Bush, so be it. You'll regret electing McCain, just like many regret electing Bush.

1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.
4) the DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000 +
5) American's were buying new cars, taking cruises and vacations

since then

1) Consumer confidence has plummeted.
2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase).
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS & prices still dropping;
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
6) $2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!

congress runs the country not the president obama can't change anything and neither can mccain congress is the problem

ummm if gas went up to 7 bucks then ya i would vote. but ya i do think we should not be in war, there was no reason why we need to be in war. for the person that did 911 we should only be consertrating on finding that one person (which wa osama binladen or watever his name was) and not go to war with other different contries that didnt terrorize us.

like whenever another country get hit by sumthing US goes to there rescue but if sumthing happened the US other country's would not even bother to help us. Just like 911, no other contries came to help us :mad:

we were doing nearly the same things since 2001 and we did just fine till 2006 when the dems took the house and the senate and started black balling everything bush tried to do. from then on things went down hill but instead of blaming the people responsible they pointed at the figure head (the president) and thats fine to do you just have to realize that without the senate and houses' support the presidents hands are tied so none of it is really his fault he just gets to be the scape goat every presidential candidate knows that is a possiblity when they decide to run. If you make them (congress) comfortable they forget about you but if you try somthing they don't agree with they don't let you do it and then they crucify you when what you were trying to fix is still broken.
