The Story of Two Houses"
House #1 A 20 room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house, all heated by gas. In one month this residence consumes more energy than the average American household does in a year. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2400. In natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not situated in a Northern or Midwestern "snow belt" area. It's in the South. ~~~ House #2 Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university, This house incorporates every "green" feature current home construction can provide. The house is 4,000 square feet ( 4 bedrooms ) and is nestled on a high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat-pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water (usually 67 degrees F) heats the house in the winter and cools it in the summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas and it consumes one-quarter electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Surrounding flowers and shrubs native to the area enable the property to blend into the surrounding rural landscape. ~~~~~ HOUSE #1 is outside of Nashville, Tennessee; it is the abode of the "environmentalist" Al Gore. HOUSE #2 is on a ranch near Crawford, Texas; it is the residence of the President of the United States , George W. Bush. An "inconvenient truth". ************************************************** ***** The above is true. You can check it out if you wish. Urban Legends Reference Pages: A Tale of Two Houses or check out http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors...ush-houses.htm I also read that if Gore gets his way about the "green" stuff, our gas will go up another 35 cents per gal.

I think that is pretty damn funny, but that doesent mean that al gore's message is a bad one.
oh.. another 35 cents? that would suck... then again.... so would having the polar ice caps melt which would damn near halt the oceans currents, destroy one of the largest eco systems in the planet, and end up with a planet that is only habital by cocaroaches, twinkies, and Cher. i guess then it wouldnt matter how much gas cost, we would all be dead, with exception of some small ragtag bands of people in the outskirts of civilization clinging onto life madmax style. personally, i would like to see a habitable world for our kids. Everyone is a hypocrite to one degree or another. Just cause he has that house doesent mean that his message is not a good one. seriously though, i think they need to put in a new gas guzzler tax. A nice fat $3,000 tax on anything that gets less than 15 MPG. i dont care if somebody wants a big HumV. i want my kid to have a planet he can live on. |

ha ha ha....that's pretty funny, but you need to get your head checked. ha ha
I've said this before and I know we can't teach an old dog like you new tricks, but take a little time and learn about both sides of the political parties in this country. It's really easy to be a puppet like you seem to be for the Reps....cause they have you puppets convinced that all democrats want to raise taxes, kill babies, support gay marriage..ect....Take a little time and learn about both sides...you don't have to agree with it, but that's what educated people do! They aren't puppets.

Left side.. right side...
in my view both sides are too blinded by arrogance and ego to recognize any value in eachother, therefore immediatly try to destroy anything the other side tries to do without considering if there were any merit. the hard core dems are just as bad as the hard core repubs. bunch of crusty old farts who just got tired of trying to think and would rather just spit out rhetoric than actually, god forbid, find a solution. Both sides have thier merits and both have thier faults. as for Gore's message about global warming, if you are still so damn stubborn and or stupid you refuse to accept it, yer gonna feel likee a real moron in the afterlife explaining to your grandchildren why you destoryed thier world and diddnt give 2 shits about it. oh yeah thats right. the world was created a few thousand years ago and dinosaurs were nothing more than a hoax right? lol..... |

ive been swapping out all the lightbulbs with the super efficient florescent ones. they cost twice as much as a decent bulb but last 2-3 times longer, and take a hellofalot less energy. they say if everyone uses one of those in thier house in america it would be the equivelant of removing 100,000 cars off the road. the small shit really adds up... this is gonna be a very interesting time for humanity. we have the option to... A) Stay the course, trash the planet, and start a chain reaction which will throw us into an ice age or B) control the planet, be smarter about what we do, what we use, and how much we use, and continue to live on this planet for a very very very long time... lol... ![]() |

Who is going to build the roads that the trucks bringing the food to the supermarket need to run on? Who is going to stop mexico and canada or whoever from dividing us up if there is not government to run the military? The government is a tool of the americans to keep things running smoothly. sometimes tools need to be sharpened, sometimes they need to be replaced, but if you got rid of everyone from the mayor on up, have fun tyracking down the people who raped yer mom and sister and shot yer family dog just cause they could. sure, you could exact vengance, but that doesent change the fact the damage was done. anarchy would be great if people could be responsible about it. however, it is completly unrealistic. If anyone wants to know what anarchy would be like, go spend a week in somolia with an american flag on yer shirt. Anarchy would probably be a bit worse. |

Hillary for President!!!
no, i was jk. don't worry. lol anways.... as it stands right now, it's not cost effective for the average joe to have his house built "environmently friendly". heck, just the cost of solar panels on your roof so you didn't use any of the power companies power would damn near bankrupt ya. and eve that is almost impossible, idk bout any of ya'll but in FL we will get some weeks where it seems to do nothing but rain. you can run off of batteries just sooo long. moving to what was stated the the article about the ...pipes going down 300 ft below ground... i'm sure just that was a pretty penny, much less any of the other "enviro. friendly" stuff he's got done. i forgot who said it, but the thing about the fluorescent bulbs...yeaa those are great. they do use a lot less power, and if most ppl that could afford a $7 light bulb in every light in their house would do it, and everyone would turn the damn light, fan, or tv off when they left the room it would be a huge savings overall. might even see a LITTLE off ur electric bill, that and not running your a/c or clothes dryer as much and putting your hot water heater on a switch or time clock. u'll def. see a lil sumthin' off the bill. just a few ways we all can pitch in. |

speaking of hillary for president...that brings to mind rudy guiliani...i hope the rest of the country knows that everybody hated him in new york...he runs his whole campaign on the lie that he was 9-11's leader...the sonofabitch showed up one time and waved...then bloomberg became mayor....guiliani knows he didnt do anything and he needs to stop that lie....every cop, every firefighter, everybody who was the true hero that day hates guiliani...i hear theres alot of californians here....ask billy bratton about rudy...rudy fired him when people realized that billy was the one who beat down crime in nyc...sorry...had to vent

it seems that as yrs pass the quality of presidential candidates has declined quite a bit. this yr i don't think i want ANY of them in there. just the thought of hillary being president makes me wanna swallow a gun barrel. not because she's a female, just because i think she's an effin' idiot. then ya got osama's cousin obama, come on. and then ya got the rest of the bumbling idiots up there. i'm not saying GWB has done an excellent job by no means, but i think he's done a fair job recovering what clinton effed up. IMO, we finally got a pres. that had the balls to strike back at the terrorists. granted the big ordeal with the WMD's...yea that prolly was a F-up. but no one in here can say there isn't ANY al quida (sp?) in iraq.
