One bad mama-jama. For those of you who don't know, he is the one that started the Crips gang and has been in the news a lot because his execution date is coming up...to execute or not to execute...that is the question.

BrentK 12-08-2005 07:49 AM

I can take him .. lol

MachGT 12-08-2005 08:19 AM

fry the bastard...

madmatt 12-08-2005 08:20 AM

We should go back to public hangings...

*no, that wasnt meant to have a racial tone.

Grimmz 12-08-2005 08:36 AM

LoL yeah I heard some guy on the radio talk about him when i was back home. Was was he accused of again? I forgot? Yeah he's ****in Huge!

jjtgiants 12-08-2005 10:00 AM

Man this is all over the news here in CA.....I think this guy probably has a lot more blood on his hands than what he was convicted of, which I think he was convicted of killing 4 people.....with that said I bet most of you guys didn't know he wrote a book and it was nominated for a Nobel Prize for Peace and Literature.....Apparently they made a movie out of the book and it wone awards at the Sundance Film Festival.

Not sticking up for the guy at all....he should pay for his crimes, but I figured I'd put a little more thought into it rather than "Fry the Bastard".

I knew about the book and the Nobel Prize. The movie is called "Redemption" and Jamie Foxx plays Stan Tookie Williams in it.

rada 12-08-2005 10:08 AM

Tookie has shown no remorse for the 4 people he killed. Never once since his incarceration has he appologized for what he did.

His defense for his actions has been, racial bias, unfair trial, racially biased jury........

His supporters say he's "changed" and done much to help with gang issues....

he wrote 2 books -- 1 book sold 2-3 copies, the other sold a blockbusting 350 or so copies....

If he took real responsibility for his actions I might be inclined to agree with clemancy, but not in this case. He wrote the final chapter in the lives of 4 people, now it's time for his final word.

jjtgiants 12-08-2005 10:33 AM

Again, I'm not sticking up for the guy at all.......He needs to pay for what he's done....and I also think you probably could argue that a lot more blood is on his hands for starting the crips gang. I also agree that he never showed any kind of remorse and even if he did my thought is "people aren't usually sorry until they get caught" !!!!

I was just trying to say there should be more thought into putting someone to death rather than just say "Fry the Bastard".

floppy 12-08-2005 10:46 AM

eh, i say fry the bastard...

Jack The Ripper 12-08-2005 11:20 AM

Damn, i though that was the latest movie poster for King Kong for a minuit.

Because he probably put a lot of thought into killing those four people?

caballo 12-08-2005 01:07 PM

I understand the point you're trying to make and he supposedly has done a couple of books and got nominated for a few big awards. However according to the US Supreme Court, he's still guilty of killing or planning to kill at least 4 people despite his appeals and his charges of misrepresentation and racism and unfair trial...

I am glad that he decided to do something "constructive" with the time he had left, but the fact remains he has been found guilty of a crime(s) that carries the death penalty as punishment.

Action has consequence.

Grimmz 12-08-2005 01:14 PM

you know while on one hand he killed 4 people...wouldn't it be worse for him to live the rest of his life in prison? ...

jjtgiants 12-08-2005 01:30 PM

I agree with you Caballo.......Don't get me wrong, I probably live in one of the most liberal places on earth and yet I support the death penalty for the most part (well, maybe not public hanging....unless it's Bin Laden...ha ha)...but it's just not an easy thing to decide.....can you imagine being on the jury and having to decide whether or not to kill a person for the crimes they committed??? Yeah yeah yeah....I know most of guys probably will say you have no problem with that, but it's real easy to sit at a computer and throw out comments until YOU have to make a decision to put someone to death! Do I want to have to make that decision....nope.

I used to live in Santa Rosa(Rohnert Park), so I know of which you speak... It would be a difficult decision to make....

Grimmz,

I would agree with you if CA prison system hadden't turned into the Hilton with bars..

I'm not saying they have live ina cold wet cell with rats and broken plumbing. But prison is no longer a deterent to commiting a crime. Prison should be a punishment, not a vacation-like free ride.

Here in AZ, in Maricopa county, w have Sherrif Joe Arpaio. Sherrif Joe knows how to run a prison. No weights, (why breed stronger, healthier criminals). The TVs only get is CNN and Disney. When prison issued underwear was being sold on the black market, he had it died pink! Sherrif Joe set up a tent city, and chain gangs, for both men and women...

Check out more about Sherrif Joe here

Back to the point - if prison was a "prison", and he showed any remorse for his actions, I'd say keep him locked up for life.

madmatt 12-08-2005 03:15 PM

Heck yes, that guy knows how to run a prison. Seen him on the travel channel or tlc, one.

MattJ 12-08-2005 04:21 PM

I seen that prison too. regardless of what he did after he commited his crimes, it doesnt change the fact that he murdered 4 people, and possibly more regarding his backround. And just figure what else is in his closet that he HASNT be caught for.

however Id keep walkin away if he tried startin something with me. thats a big ass dude and im 6'3" 195lbs!

stangspeed 12-08-2005 04:54 PM

Eye for an eye.....deathbybungabunga

Yeah I know who your talkin about, I saw a show about him. And I agree, but still there is solitary...and Alaska...LoL...\

As for being in prison, the whole point is just that living your entire life knowing nothing else will happen and there is no chance for escape is a worse fate then death...why do you think they found Saddam alive, instead of finding only parts of him...there was a Dead or Alive price for him...

That depends on the individual, some fear death more than permanant incarceration, honestly, i dont give a crap about it being a punishment as much as i care about them being removed from decent socioty. I dont give 2 craps if they learn thier lesson or not, prison aint about them, it is about the fact that everyone else that shouldnt have to put up with thier ****, so we remove them from socioty. ya know?

Personally, if they are going to life out what would be the rest of thier natural life in prison, obiously we dont want em around, so lets just 'off' the bastards and stop wasting taxpayer money on them.

Or better yet, start a "Running Man" Game show with the ones who will never get out. Make some entertainment out of it, make some money out of it, and have a little fun. In my view some of these guys are barley human, in fact, less than dogs in my view.

Now i dont include anyone in that, just the murderers, rapists, child molesters, you know, the worst of the worst.

What really pisses me off though? The group of prisoners that i absolutly HATE spending a DIME of my taxes on? The freakin pot heads. Let them go. Christ. You get more violent crime with beer than pot.

What does a pot head do? Score a sack from a hippy? eat come cheetoes? watch discovery channel?.... what a hardened criminal there.

The only real CRIME that results from pot is from the larger scale dealers / distributers who ocassionally feel like they lost a small fortune on a bad deal. If this crap was legal, we wouldnt even have to worry about that.

JM2C

jjtgiants 12-08-2005 08:16 PM

ha ha....slappy your right on about the pot heads.....They don't need to be in freaking jail..... I dont like the stuff at all, but I'm still not sure why pot isn't legal....I've never seen any study or heard anything saying pot can kill you if you smoke too much of it.....ok so you might get fat from the late night trips to twinkies and burgers...... Cigs and alcohol are much worse for you and they are legal....hmmmmm Can you imagine how much money the government could make if they legalized it and taxed the crap out of it....hell, we could have a sweet tax cut after we pay down the 4 trillion dollar deficit we have.

Sorry the california is coming out of me again....wait, pot is legal in California.....Oh I'm sorry, it's called Medical Marijuana
