Washed and Polished-What do you think?

I think that fr500's are the next thing I'm ordering from MT. Very soon. once I pay off this month's credit card bill, that is :(

I still need to get my tb/plenum and UDP's installed!!! Theyve been sitting in my room for over a month just SITTING THERE. 20 hp is collecting DUST in my bedroom.

MineralGT 08-19-2005 12:07 AM

I think I'm gonna get the UDP after my brake kit...nothing new coming soon, I gotta pay off my card too...I found these for 1200.00 w/tires from a guy from a local club with only 2,000 miles on them so my Dad gave me some of the money and I'm working 12 hour days to pay him back quickly.

Lances03SVT 08-19-2005 03:12 AM

Looks real good.I love that color :) Those wheels ar HOT.

venom 08-19-2005 05:30 AM

Im glad you jumped on those wheels as it looks awesome. How much of a PITA is to clean all those spokes?

MattJ 08-19-2005 06:42 AM

It looks just as good as when I washed, clayed, polished, and waxed mine the other day. woot woot to mineral grey... And MAN! them wheels are sexy!

Slither 08-19-2005 07:43 AM

I want to clay mine but damn we get really bad weather here in FL EVERYDAY! Wheels look good.

cmsbluedevil 08-19-2005 09:05 AM

Can't go wrong with chrome letters on a black mustang.

ShakerScoops 08-19-2005 10:49 AM

Yeah I took about an hour on the wheels and tires...I'm gonna go buy the Mother's Powerball tomorrow and spend 20 minutes from now on.

They need to make the inserts with studs on them, like they are riveted on....that would be cool.

NoKturnaL 08-19-2005 12:54 PM

black still looks better when cleaned n waxed..... :p

I use to have a black truck but I park outside...too damn hard to keep clean plus I can have a nice layer of dust on my car and no one notices :D

timstpetefl 08-19-2005 01:09 PM

Ya but they dang sure noticed a cleaned up black car. Its simple, ya take it to the spray wash, $1.75 every other day. 1 min of rinsing and 3 min of spot free rinse, drive off she looks badarse all the time.

Once a week or so Ill shammy her after the spot free rinse

My rims get me the attention now...not to mention my handsome self :D

Damn...I spend about 6 bucks at the spray place...high pressure rinse > high pressure soap > soap brush > high pressure rinse > spotfree rinse > drive home and shammy and do windows and dash.

My FR500s take about 30 minutes to clean... once nice thing is, you can get your hand between the spokes to clean the inside of the rim.

You obviously don't do them by hand. It took me an hour with the chrome polish and I kinda did them half ass.

Lances03SVT 08-19-2005 05:51 PM

I very seldom wash my Stang at a carwash.I usually hand wash it.

MattJ 08-19-2005 05:52 PM

Since you have chrome (if they arent cheap and plated) you can use meguires wheel cleaner as a prespray and spray all 4 wheels, then come back around with a washmit and soap and get them clean. theres no reason to spend an hour on your wheels unless you have no arms, and they are covered in thick grime and brake dust.

I take it to one where you park and used the hoses and stuff...I don't take it where they drive it through anymore

No, I do them by hand... but mine are silver not chrome so I'll wax them when I wax the car... but washing them only take about 30mins.

Oh...I've never had nice enough rims to pay attention to so I washed them at the carwash with soap and water and then rub on the polish and buffed the hell out of them...I'm gonna get the powerbal thing so they will come out perfect in under 20 mins. I tried soap and water then just drying them but the polished looked way better.

I don't even do that if I can help it.High pressure washes remove wax and it doe'snt get all the dirt off.If I do wash it at one I always dry it off after I leave the bay.I'm a very obsessed detailer :) Never use the brushes at one,you never know what kind of crap the last person left on them that might scratch your paint or they might have a harsh chemical on them.

Lances03SVT 08-19-2005 06:59 PM

Try this stuff on your wheels http://www.eagleone.com/_products/1,1020626.asp
It worked real good on my 99 Cobra wheels and cleans your tires too.
