Here we go
Picked up the Mach rear last night. The guy painted the whole thing black and then painted silver over the diff cover....
I doubt I'll get it done today because I'm working alone and not going to be able to lift the 8.8 onto the jacks, at most I'll get the 7.5 out.

No, it's always the passenger side tire that spins. I've never rotated my tires, the driver's side one has just been on there for 2 years and was slightly over inflated whereas the passenger-side tire was replaced around October.
And the drive-shaft bolts...how the **** do you break those loose?

Please tell me that there are 3:73s or 4:10s in that rear end...

I got them off with a blow torch, and an 18" steel pipe slipped over a wrench..haha.
BUT...I can not separate the drive-shaft from the differential. The drive-shaft popped out of the transmission but it seems like it's ******* welded onto the diff. There's nothing holding it on, so what the hell.
It has stock 3.55 gears

You should try to bench press that basterd, film it, _______, profit. But seriously, you could lift one end, put a stand under it, then jimmy the jack up under the diff and wheel it around into place. I'm don't know about getting the driveshaft out of the diff. If a torch worked for the bolts, why not the shaft. Work the shaft while giggling the bolts.

pee you're making me proud. don't let it frustrate you... most of those things are excessively tight. Make sure you put those DS bolts back in as tight as you can (80-100lbs IIRC). 70lbs on the control arm bolts.
It took me like 6 hours my first time... after that, 2 hours to pull and replace a solid, 3 for an IRS swap.

Got it in! The install was rather pleasant and had no issues. Hardest part was just getting it aligned up and jacked up to bolt the LCAs in, after that it was smooth sailing. BUT, before we got to work on my car I helped a friend install front springs and a leaf spring flip kit in his ranger. That took forever, then after we finished my car I helped another friend change the air filter in his car.
I worked on cars for 14 hours today, non stop. I'm ******* exhausted.
But my car drives much better now, no more ******* axle noises, noticeably better acceleration (the shifting also seems smoother for some reason, don't know why that is), and of course t-lok is nice, accelerates forward instead of to the left.

only in the ring and pinion gear they come with. Gt's are 3.27:1 from the factory, Machs are 3.55 : 1.
and nice job on getting it in man.

Good Job Kevin! I'm sure the 3.55's give you a good bit more punch, you should feel good about what you did. Most people would pay hunderds of dollars just for the labor for what you did yourself.
Nice work!

Awesome man. Are you gunna get yourself a tuner to switch over the gear change or just leave it be? Now you got one less thing to worry about switching out when you drop a v8 in there one day!! Getting both tires to bark is such a better feeling than just one haha.
