~Show me some pic's~

I'd like to see some pictures of...

1. Black or Chrome Dual Mustang Halo Projector Headlights - LED (99-04)

The same lights as the lights for sale on americanmuscle.com. I have looked at the customer pics who purchased the lights but there isn't enough pic's for me to decide which ones I like better, black or chrome. I'd like to see them on a black Mustang but any color will help.

2. Black Mustangs with Red painted brake calibers but once again any color will help.

3.
Black Mustangs with 2 white racing stripes, yet again any color will help.

PistonsFan102 01-10-2009 08:02 AM

Try Google?

NewEdge01 01-10-2009 08:22 AM

Your right, I should be able to find some pic's of the stripes and red calibers but not for the lights they are harder to find. Plus I am just lazy, I thought I could sit back and let the pic's just build up and come to me, I am actually surprised, I would think on a Mustang Forum people would be throwing the pictures on here every few mins, oh well.

PColav6 01-10-2009 08:47 AM

Not many of us are going to have those projector lights....cause they suck. lol

NewEdge01 01-10-2009 08:52 AM

Really? Why? I thought they looked pretty sweet. Or you joking, because I could swear I remember thinking, "those lights look pretty damn awesome" every time I seen them.

08mustang_gt 01-10-2009 08:58 AM

Projectors are pretty sucky. The light quality is like taking a flashlight and putting a paper cup over it. AND!!! pretty much all of them I've ever seen leak water in....I'd go for some HID's if you really wanted some sweet lights.

Projectors are ok if you buy some and seal the s*** out of them with silicone.

NewEdge01 01-10-2009 09:23 AM

Yeah but you can buy the really bright lights for them, I have read reviews that the light quality is good, is your opinion from experience

NewEdge01 01-10-2009 09:51 AM

Once again what are HID's I read about HID bulbs is that what you mean! They are like $300, I'll stick with stock bulbs. I have read like you said that the bulbs in the Halo lights are bad but like I said the brighter bulbs are available.
Plus I think its worth it, even if the are dimmer, they look so amazing I wouldn't care.

They shouldn't cost that much. My friend said he would do them for $140.00 or something and being installed. Someone else in here when I said something about that, they also said they're only $100.00 and just do the installing your self.

Go with HID's, don't waste your money on shitty lights. I would take advice from here then any where else. Just because it has good reviews doesn't always mean that the product is good. People sometimes pay others just to say something or they haven't experinced much to know the difference. I will be getting HID's when I get a Cobra.

You both are right about the cost for HIDs, because there are two kinds. The single beam and the dual beam and the prices reflect. With the single beam, you only get low beams. While the dual beam aka bi-xenon HIDs you get high and low beams. Installation is fairly easy and shouldnt take more than an hour.

NewEdge, if your planning on getting HIDs, check out stangmods. They have a wider selection of HIDs than american muscle, plus you can choose the color you want.

I just want to stress this issue, you only get low beams, as in, when you click to your high beams, your headlights turn off completely.

Stephen4036 01-10-2009 02:53 PM

you def want high and low beam

PureStang 01-10-2009 07:50 PM

please please please dont get HID and put them in the stock housings!!! you will completely blind the person in the opposite lane. if you going to get HID's do a proper retrofit. take a projectors from a high end car (lexus, bmw, etc) and build them into the housings in the mustang.

to do it correctly be prepared to spend about $1k. if i were you, just stick with the stock housings and get some silverstars.

Pfft, all you gotta do is angle them down and you shouldn't have any problems. I've never been flashed at by anyone.

I think I have BMW Halo Lights and they suck on my car, so I need the High Beams on just to see better, not even that much better.

Yeah mine face down too, but I think that's because of another reason.

first off...how the hell dont you know what you have on your own car?????? this is a swap/retrofit that you should know what components are used because not every light is made the same.

second....halo lights and true HID's are two completely different thing. halo lights are simply a circle around the actual light that provide no lighting what so ever, theyre for show.

i use sliverstar lights and theyre pointed lower than normal in addition to being lowered 1.75" and i get flashed all the freaking time when/if i drive at night. luckily this isnt my DD so im not worried about the lights what so ever.

Never heard that before.. The people that have blinding HID's have the 55w off road only lights and are morons. Smart people use the D.O.T. approved 35w and have no issues.

Halo projectors suck, the LED's WILL eventually burn out, the actual "projector" is a piece of shit and totallycompletely useless. If you think your headlights are dim now, just wait. I assume the AM ones are exactly the same as the ones that I had and if they are, the halogen bulb closest to the grill of the car (farthest from the turn signal) is the high beam and the "projector" is the low beam. In the set that I had on my Mustang, the projector bulb was completely sealed and impossible to replace with any standard halogen or HID bulb.

Do yourself a favor and order a standard non-projector replacement headlight from AM. Seal it up with silicone and get a good set of 35w bi-xenon HID's.

I just ordered my HID's from www.sharphid.com (35w bi-xenon, lifetime warranty, $140) and they will be here by Wed. I'm going to post up some photos and a review when I get them in.

Does anyone actually own Dual Halo Projector headlights or is all this hearsay? If anyone actually bought a pair of these lights and used the best bulbs for them, like the Silverstar H1 high and low beams, I'd like to hear what you have to say. I am aware that with the style of light they will not be as bright because obviously they only give light from a ring and not a full circle, they are for show, thats the whole point, I want to add as much as I can to my car to make it more of a head turner. I could care less if the road isn't as bright, thats what street lights are for. As for these other lights people are mentioning called HID, what do they look like, are they just the same old boring stock look, if so why would I want them, I just said I don't care how bright they are!

Projectors aren't really head turners, they're more point and laugh kinda thing. That's my opinion btw. Here's my HID headlights and fog lights. Bright as hell and have a slight blue tint to them in person.

I don't see how there not head turners, I was blown away when I seen them for the first time and I am siked to get them on my Stang. Why would some one laugh, honestly, when it really comes down to it, its a ring instead of a circle for a head light, that and they are blue, which isn't funny in anyway but to me is pretty unreal and something very unique for a car. Your lights look the same as my stock, I am sure they are brighter but I don't really care about that, not something I care enough to invest my own money into if it doesn't change the look of my car. I have driven cars with bad lights in the country before and I never had any problems, so lighting is not an issue for me personally.

IMO, they are more for ricers. Get them if you want, it's your car and you can mod it anyway you want. You don't have to ask for our advice or our opinions, all that matter is that you like it.

NewEdge01 01-11-2009 07:29 AM

Stangmods is a joke. They over charge everything and they're site looks like some kids myspace. They are selling rocker stripes for $65 and they claim thats the "sale" price. I bought mine from American Muscle and they cost me like $40.

albo1278 01-11-2009 07:41 AM

actually stangmods is a pretty good website. dont be hatin

Because I just bought my car back in May of 08. The guy didn't tell me what kind of lights they were, he just said that the Halo lights are disconnected because he personally doens't like that. Then I as well know they're not stock lights, because he gave me the stock lights and I lost one part. :/

What is that on either side of the pony?

Stephen4036 01-11-2009 01:12 PM

looks like maybe an intercooler support or some kind if suspension mod.
