HDR Photos

It seems like there has been alot of hype for HDR photos here. I thought it would be a good idea if we all posted our own HDR creations here. Ill get us started.

Lookin pretty good guys. Thanks for the compliments on my first 2. that 3rd one was my very first attempt. Here is another of my buddy's car. The surroundings turned out well... but the car has a weird glow to it

Second pic was awesome Wombozi, and is that a Regal GS?

Wombozi17 08-25-2008 08:09 PM

Regal GS it is! Supercharged 3.8 fury, its fun.

Flynnster 08-25-2008 08:18 PM

I use photomatix. I would have alot more pictures if i had a good camera and a tripod. i just use my friends camera.

King 08-26-2008 11:14 AM

mustangvsix, do you still have your median image used for the white v6 picture? If so, would you send that to me? I thought I could try another technique for HDR on that.

The way it shows all the reflections with such clarity on the bumper is just badass.

And for you guys with darker cars, when you do HDR pics you should wipe your cars down because they show all of the smudges and shit on your paint..lol

King 08-26-2008 12:26 PM

00blkstanggt, what camera are you using? High mp? It's very clear.

I have a Sony A200 DSLR with 10.2mp. I use photomatix for all my merging and tone mapping and then photoshop for anything else.

pcola, I usually take pics of the car when it's clean but some of the shots were just on a whim so the car was a bit dirty.

I wish I did, but I don't, I only have the final copy.
long story short, computer took a dump a year or so ago and the only reason I have this copy is it was saved in my photobucket account. sorry man.

Flynnster 08-26-2008 08:37 PM

What program are yalll using to put the three photos together?
I am jsut getting into messing around with my camera and am very interested in doing some hdr's.

PColav6 08-26-2008 08:40 PM

Photomatrix.

You can download the trial version, and I'm pretty sure I still have my keygen so I can give you a key to convert it to the full version.

But I didn't say that

The program is called photomatix. I use more than 3 photos... i use anywhere from 5-10 to get dramatic effects.

This is absolutely one of the best HDR's I have ever seen. Outstanding job!

Attachment 21367

I would love to have this in 1680/1050 if you've got it! Or whatever the highest resolution you've got.

haha ok thanks, i will take a look. wont get to it for a while though between having three cars to clean this week, school starting next week, a weldgin cart to build and a show to practice for i am not seeing it the cards.

what kind of lighting conditions are best for HDR's? or does it not matter since you are using 5-10 photographs?

PColav6 08-26-2008 09:10 PM

It doesn't really matter. Wouldn't do it in pitch black though, lol
