my stepdad put the hoodscoop on last night when they got back from picking it up. he has a roll bar he will be putting in next weekend. wants to put the roush strip on it also and upgrade the brakes and tint the windows. i just wished my mom lived a lot closer, like next door!

DJ_Nate 08-03-2008 11:52 AM

meh the GT CS isn't anything special. all it is, is a GT with a body Kit. I get to drive one around the dealership that i work out once a day and there really nothing special. I also drove a GT and to me the sound the same and have the same amount of power. It still looks good none the less.

nope. no supercharger

As a tribute to the 1968 California Special, FORD added a limited production factory GT/California Special in 2007. The GT/CS is based on a Mustang GT with a 4.6 liter engine. The GT/CS option adds unique floor mats, side stripes (with GT/CS behind the front wheel RH and LH), 18" polished aluminum wheels, rolled exhaust tips, pony center cap (with words "California Special"), lowered front bumper/valance and unique rear bumper. The 2007 GT/CS can be ordered as a coupe or convertible, with manual or automatic transmission. Colors are Red, Black, Blue and White. The GT/California Special package for 2007/2008 is an additional $1895.00

Good looking car indeed!

sand1303 08-03-2008 03:27 PM

the california special is only cosmetic changes from a regular gt but look at the 6r in the background. that's why i am so jealous because that one in the back is mine.

jseven 08-03-2008 03:46 PM

yeah that sounds like it would a cali special...

if it were a texas special, then it would be supercharged ...bc everything is bigger in texas, even our engines :)

lol

PureStang 08-03-2008 09:39 PM

the only thing on the CS cars that i like are the rear bumper. i fully believe that ford should have had them stock on the gt's

Leonide 08-04-2008 03:55 AM

what i feel about the CS'es, is that your just paying for the name. your not getting any real content with the CS package. better to get a base GT and mod it. :)

EDIT: still a nice looking car though. :)

What are you talking about? The CS has a different front and rear bumper cover, side scoops, hood scoop, two tone interior standard, 18 inch polished wheels standard, etc...

I would say from a BASE GT, it looks a hell of a lot better/different.

Yes it does. Its got the same front/rear bumper as a Shelby GT. If i'm not mistaken. If I go with an S197 for my next stang it will definitely be a Black on Black, black/dove interior, 3.55 geared (even though i'll change them out eventually), 5 speed GT/CS.
