New toy is on...
So the V-1 Vortech S-trim is on. Haven't had it on the dyno yet, but I'm pretty excited about just being done with the install. It wasn't hard at all, quite simple actually. Its decently loud. My cams really chug away so it quiets the noise of the blower down a little, but you can definitely still hear it. Anyway, here is a pic and a video so you can hear it. The nylon tubing will get cleaned up a bit, just had to make sure the boost gauge worked correctly off of the vaccum line I used before I make it look pretty.

Got the car back today from the dyno. My steeda underdrive pulleys are underdriving my blower so it hindered my numbers. My underdrive pulleys are limiting the blower output to 5 psi, but at 5 psi, the car put down 325hp, 327 tq. Thats on a mustang dyno too, not a dynojet dyno which are around 10% higher than a mustang dyno. I should pick up the other 3 psi and around 40-50 additional hp when I get the factory pullies back on. |
VT stage 2 NA cams? Their NA cams are going to be bleeding some boost out the exhaust with the short 108 LSA. Can't wait to see how it does with the full 8lbs. Post up a graph when you get a chance.
BTW... Don't believe the 10% MD vs. DJ dyno BS. It depends on how the MD was calibrated... I've had back to back runs on both (same weekend) and the numbers were identical. Race clocks, not dyno's. |
what all does your car have done to it?

Similarly, a trend does not imply a rule. Simply shows there's a lot of shitty dyno operators out there. I don't want to debate the matter with you here (we can re-hash that thread elsewhere)... Suffice it to say that I've dyno'd more mustangs than most will ever get to drive and I've done it on both types. DJ and MD aren't more than incidentally different if the MD is calibrated correctly. I've seen more day to day variance than I have load cell vs. intertia reading differences all else being equal.
Doesn't even matter what gear you're in if they're cal'd properly. |
the only reading I really care about getting right on a dyno is the air/fuel ratio anyway... of course timing is good but that comes with good tuning
