Default Liscence plates

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up. Whenever you post a pic of your car, put it in MSpaint, or whatever program you have, and change or blur the liscence plate numbers. I just dont want anyones cars to get stolen or anyone get hurt. Thanks to the member who brought this to my attention as well. Thanks guys, be safe.
Matt

How can showing your license plate be of any harm? It's visible all the time on the road. Is it because it's posted on the net? I can't figure this one out, but then again I have not a criminal mind.

There are many reasons to blur your plate and hide your identity. Alot of people tell racing stories or show videos of them going over 160 miles per hour on some highway at night. It is very possible for this to be used against them by law enforcement. Cops surf these forums often to see where the next big race is going to take place, or where it is exactly that kids like to break the 200 miles per hour barrier. In the eyes of the law its like a confession. Also a sound system or something not visible looking at the exterior of the car could be extremely expensive and be targeted by criminals. If your license plate is posted online, along with your $5000 system, and the criminal happens to notice you live in the area judging by where your plate is from, he knows where he is going for his next steal. Just something to thnik about, blurring your license plate.

actually there is a point to the license plate situation. Had a friend who had a Mustang and posted it on another forum a long time ago. Because he didn't blur the plates...his ride got stolen. Later we found out that the person who stole it live in a nearby town. He left my friend a message on the forum..."you ride handled like dream". The car was recovered but not in great condition.

unfortunately my last car got stolen. it was later found on 4 flat spares where my chrome 18s used to be, the custom exhaust was sawed off before the cat, the back seat was completely ripped out with the amp and speakers attached, and EVERYTHING inside the car was taken even stupid little personal stuff. even the tags got scraped off the plates. and it looked like they hit a few things on the way to chop it and drop it off...

...but with my insurance money i was able to put down enough for my gt, so it all worked out.

it really pisses me off when you spend time, sweat, and money on your, making it the way you want it, then some jackass strips it in less than a couple hours. No respect man...no respect.

Man seriously your gun aint gonna do ****, A real theif can steal all your stuff without you knowing while your sleeping, I live in miami and I have seen just about everything, My neighbor had a nice Yukon with rims and a system and HIDs and eveything, One night while he was sleeping a couple of guys came, got under his truck, snapped wires so the alarm didn't go off, opened the car, Jacked the whole system, DVD player, all his CDs, his briefcase with important files, they took his HIDs, and had even tried stealing his rims but for some reason they didn't. He woke up to find his window of his car broken, the door wide open, his hood popped open, no tail lights or headlights, inside was all jacked. And all this happened while he was sleeping, his crazy alarm didn't even go off.

Hello All,
I'm new here, and happend to notice that the Photoshopped yellow stang had blacked out tails. I would like to know where i can get the tint to do this to my stang. i have a GT, Black on Black. thought i could black out the front and rears a bit.

i know www.sticketcity.com, but they are so damn expensive. THANKS!

It doesn't matter if you blur your plate when showing pics on the web or not. Whether you're car is seen cruising the mall, your local strip, car shows, or the web, if somebody targets your car, they're not targeting the plate, only the car....

If you were really worried about this, it would make better sense not to input your city location in the User CP section so it doesn't show up in your posts...

I agree. They do. I'm on the cycle forums and a few friends who are friends with local cops have admitted that they do. They find out when the next big ride is and make it a point to be within the vicinity; especially when the sportbikes get together!
