Black GT- Tinted tail lights?

Does anyone have a picture of a 2000-2004 black gt with tinted tail lights? I can't seem to find any and I was wondering what it looks like. I might want to do it. :)

Thanks

DO NOT HALF ASS IT IF YOU DO THIS, BUY THE AUTOBADGES.COM TINTS.

Dont make the same mistake i made. I bought the cheaper crappy spray on stuff from American Muscle. I taped over the reverse lights when i did it to keep them from getting tinted. I dont like AmericanMuscle.com, but they DID refund my money.

Anyways, this is how it looked right after i tinted them with the spray on stuff. It looks like shit now, the stuff does not stick that great, it doesent wipe off but it does slowly rub off. It also gets a crappy texture to it and does not shine and reflect, it looks like ass within a few weeks. I havent washed my tail lights in months.
2 days ago i ordered a new set of tail lights off ebay and the 50% tints off autobadges.com.

apparently the cheak ebay tint knockoffs have a tendancy of trapping too much heat in the tail light and it causes the lense to sag inwards.

and here is a cobra with blackouts.

SO to RECAP,
crappy spray on tint = Will need to replace tail lights
cheap knockoff tints = melt your tail lights.

Diff between Autobadges and ebay is that ebay uses a sticky window type tint, which absurbs the heat and is crap. Autobadges is a nice think "Vynil" or however you spell it. Spend the extra cash and get it from Autobadges.

.

You almost had it right. "Vinyls" :tongueout: . Anyway. What is wrong with bright red taillights anyway. Geez I saw a stang hit his brakes (with tinted tails) on a sunny day and he had people all over him trying to stop. Hard to see brake lights IMHO. But I've also had assholes almost rearend me with no tint, cause you can't fix stupid drivers.. :shakeno:

Mine are the blackout's.

v8stang22 06-01-2007 05:21 AM

Thanks guys, also tinting the front head lights = illegal correct? lol

Ghostalker 06-01-2007 05:25 AM

well.... the tails are illegal too
but... not as strictly inforced as headlights. Blackedout headlights are also dangerous to drive with at night... and unlike the GTS plastic covers, you cant remove them for night driving. Personally I dont like how they look anyhow =D
The 01+ headlights are dark enough with the black housing anyhow.

check your local laws, it varies from state to state. in colorado the tail lights must reflect like 50% of light put into them.

either way, i have never been bothered about it.

Its one of those "anti ricer laws" that really just gives cops the escuse to pull over dumbshit F&F kids in souped up cars.

if the cops see your hat isnt on sideways and yer over 16 years old the usually wont bother you for it, but they might add it as a violation if you get a speeding ticket.

EDIT: In Lances case they see him driving the cobra and pull him over thinking he must have gotten confused and lost from the old folks home.

hahahahahha

Cheddarbob 06-02-2007 08:09 AM

Badfish 06-02-2007 10:43 AM

in my mustang i drove around with an SLP loudmouth w/ no cats, really dark tinted tails, drag radials with almost no tread, and no front plate in a front plate state....and all 3 times i got pulled over, none of these were brought to my attention....like slappy said...theyre just anti ricer/douchebag laws

Here's my old V6 with black outs from auto badges. The only real gripe about these is that you get three strips of vinyl for each taillight and they don't fit exactly on the lens so if someone were to look really close, they could see the edges of the thick vinyl so as to not really make them show worthy... I will concede however that this is the best solution short of actually having the lenses smoked (which is in my opinion the best way to do this, but it's irreversible. The Autobadges vinyl can just come right off before selling your car.)...

Anyway, here's a few pics...

redfire04 06-03-2007 03:18 PM

I have the blackout vinyls on mine however my car is redfire not black. I really like them they fit well and were easy to put on.

I just wish someone would make a good set of smoked tail lights for our cars instead of the crappy altezza looking ones.
