20" Rims

Anyone have 20" rims of their 99-04? If so post some pics. I am considering, if they dont look to big.

Why would you want to get 20"s on your mustang? They look horrible, especially on 99-04s. Plus they will make you slower and people will probably laugh. I wouldn't go any higher than 18"s.

It's all about personal preference, but I don't know why everyone puts down 20s. Granted, I did not buy them myself, but the guy I bought my car from put 20" cobras on and they did not look that big. Everyone that saw them thought they were 18s and everyone I personally talked to said they liked them. Granted they will slow you down some, but I would assume you would put something else on at the track and it can't be wortht that much on the street if you like the look. I would say that the biggest negative would be the price of tires and lack of choices.

Mine is obviously a 96 so not what the original poster is looking for in terms of pictures, but I just wanted to put in my $0.02 because I know that the bashing of the 20s will be forthcoming more than what has already been posted.

Do some 19's, you'll be different.

I just really dont like these roush rims. They look small because of the big lip. I was thinking of going with some bullit chrome rims. Either 18s or 20s.

just to add something people never really think about. when you put on a bigger rim, you have increased the rotational mass of the wheel. this means it makes your brakes work way harder to stop the car in the same distance that it normally would would without bigger rims. now a car with a brake upgrade should not have a problem, but if someone has a car that comes with a rim like a 14" and goes up to a 20" there are going to have problems with eating rotors and pads up like no other. I see this all the time at my work with dipshits and 20's wondering why they go through rotors so fast.

IMO, 20's look too big on our year cars. The 05+ can get away with it, but we cant.

I was at a ford dealer the other day and they had an 07 GT on some nice chrome 20's. It was beautiful and looked mean as hell.

Not my cup of tea with above pics. What you need is 18s, lower your car more or both. Since I have LT headers I had to raise my car about 1/2 and for some reason it makes my 18s look smaller and its due to the gap in the wheel well. Leave the 20s for 05-up which have the wheel well to support that size. Plus get wheels that looks like it belongs on a sports car and not an SUV.

I was thinking of the black bullits with the chrome lip.

Ditto, I have 19's on mine and they look great but almost on the too big side. Next round of tires Im going to go a little bigger in side walls. I can post up some pictures if you want me too, i'll just have to find them.
