Custom paint. 56k get a drink

The detail is damn good, I think the base color of the car kills the overall theme. If it was a Black or DSG it would look WAY better. IMHO

whitethunder46 10-24-2006 03:34 PM

I agree the artwork it's self is unbelieveable, but it on that car, idk.

Have any of you see Trick my Truck on CMT? The guy who does the painting and airbrushing on there does some of the coolese paint jobs I've ever seen.

PColav6 10-24-2006 04:03 PM

Would look cleaner if the flames ended right behind the front fenders, instead of going all the way back like that, good job though

03AZRoush 10-24-2006 04:09 PM

Nice work but Id be scared someone would shoot me driving that thing around

4.6 Love 10-24-2006 04:18 PM

I can't really say that I like it...

Stan 10-24-2006 04:23 PM

gay..

Fat Lard 10-24-2006 04:32 PM

The horse is over kill. Flames in general is really pretty gay, but that color scheme is alot gayer.

You guys really need to expand your vocabulary.. Why is the word "gay" so overused on this forum? :hittingthefan:

The paint scheme is pretty cool, just not on that particular base color.. Would look much better on a darker canvas..

Fat Lard 10-24-2006 04:43 PM

Why would I need to expand my vocabulary on a forum where the word gay is over used?

MattJ 10-24-2006 04:45 PM

I like the flames but that horse has to go. lol

GREG@SN95 10-24-2006 04:59 PM

i think it would looks sick on black.

tats the thing about any type of true fire... it just looks best on black or red.

flames look like crap if they stand out... they need to blend in... kinda like they aren't there... but if they blend in too well they look shitty...

so its a hard art

well the problem with pulling off convincing fire is that fire creates light, it does not create darkness, so really you shouldnt use any colors darker than the basecoat or it starts looking kind of funky.

EDIT: the guy is definatly good, but it would probaably have looked better on a black car, but that is the buyer, not the painter.

no... theres a balence to it...

most of the time a cars color scheme is sent out of wack by flames...

which is why althought there are thousands of great painters... only a few recieve recognition

No, you have a problem because there are painters and customers. and the painters do what the customers want, it does nothing to reflect on the artists capabilitys if the customer wants something stupid. The artist has to pay mortgage and feed thier family. This guy wanted blue fire and the artist did a great job with what he had to work with

as for flames completly blending in i disagree, i think they should pop a bit but of course not dominate the whole vehical. Then again, the thing about this stuff is it is up to the person to decide if they like it or not, there are no official rules to this, just personal taste

there... ya said it... and that is very very hard...

its a very delicate balence

SnTBakosFinest 10-24-2006 05:52 PM

The artwork itself is awesome.

The base paint of the car is.. pretty ugly, on something darker it would've been nice.

It doesn't match the car very well though, I mean yea, its got the horse on it and everything, but to me having that on that sort of body just.. doesn't flow well..

Also the top of the car (the convertible top) doesn't match with it at all..

I love the artwork, I don't like it on the car. I honestly think that it would be better looking on something like a trailer.. but I'm not big into having outrageous paint jobs on cars anyways..

However..anyone watch the travel channel with those crazy diesel trucks? That one truck had like..a 300 thousand dollar paint job on it? ANd the guy had a F150 to match it?

PColav6 10-24-2006 08:00 PM

A black car with red flames would look good

How's your airbrushing coming along,jack?

Badfish 10-24-2006 08:26 PM

ugh...i dont think it looks good in anyway...even the artwork..the flames look too..repetetive

venom 10-25-2006 01:41 PM

I dont like it,the horses legs are short and it looks like a miniture pony on roids.

Wonderwyrm 10-25-2006 03:34 PM

pony on roids

hah!:kekekegay:

foncarelli 10-25-2006 04:21 PM

I am only commenting on the artwork because the colors doesnt work at all. I have seen much better detail and the symmetry of the horse is wrong. With a little more practice and attention to detail, it looks like this guy could become a great custom airbrush artist.

smg32208 10-26-2006 06:47 PM

i can see the flames lookn tight on a chopper but i dunno about a car
