Look into Steeda, Cervenis, VIS. All are great quality.

:stupid: Harwood and Kaenen are also great companies..a little more hardcore tho

Cervini has a nice cowl hood.

Saleen has some nice hoods (the extreme hood is best) but are rather pricey.

Steeda's website says hood pins must be used for operation above 85mph on all of their fiberglass hoods. That sucks...I see a lot of Steeda hoods on mustangs, but not many hood pins...what's the real deal here?

Matt94GT 05-29-2006 04:13 PM

Deff go with a well know brand like Cervanis, Steeda etc. I went with one of the run of the mill fibreglass hoods it fits pretty well but has a bit more of a gap between the fenders and the hood then the stocker did.

does anyone know about abcexclusive.com they have great prices for hoods!! but has anyone bought anything from them??

That is one company a friend of mine used for a body kit and it really sucked. Finish was bad, fitment was horrable, it was a nightmare for him.

negligence. steeda isn't joking, I know plenty of people who's hoods have come off on the highway causing thousands of dollars of damage and endangering peoples lives. hood pins are a necessity in my opinion

read this thread.

I see...whoa. I still see A LOT of people 'round here with a non OE hood without hood pins. Is there ANY cool looking aftermarket hoods made of metal, or a fiber one but doesnt require hood pins?

Slither 05-29-2006 09:20 PM

Kaenen for the win. I love my hood!

I had a Harwood hood on my truck and it was ok. There was a lot of prep work to do once I got it. I had to sand all the edges and since it was a ram-air hood, the nose holes were filled in. I had to cut them out and fill in the gaps between the 2 layers of fiberglass. It was a pain in the ass. So yeah...that was back in 99 so maybe things have changed since then.
