Depends how much work is done to it. If it's stock Id say you'd run him. If it's modified, there's no telling. I've seen 350's and g35's run low 11's high 10's...

Nope....

The G35 will own the 98 gt. You will need PI H/C/I gears and exhaust to be able to keep up. I have been know to put a stomping on a few g35's/350 Z's myself...so they aren't that hard to beat.

 

i went stock for stock vs a 350 and a 35 ( both manuals) i got beat by both

 

A stock 350Z manual puts down about 260RWHP

you guys r freakign crazy - a 2001+ GT escpecially manual will straight up roll on a damn 350z - ive driven both and there is no way in hell you can be saying this - now in his 98 - another story... but even still from a stop he should own him... a mean even a tie if you suck in a 01+... and he has exhaust....

He's a friend of my good friend. He told me he dynoed it and it put down 260RWHP. No clue on tourque or any other mods. Also as far as I know that was bone stock. It was the anniversary 350Z, the one with the huge Brembo brakes (which look kickass btw). Other than that, that's about all I know.

 

my parents have a infiniti FX35. Those nissan v6's are really fast. That thing hauls and its all wheel drive.

 

I think it would be a closer race than you think. The G35 is not a fast car by any means. The G35X is all wheel drive and its slower than a normal G35. The AWD takes power and it cant launch anyway even with the AWD. Their system is made more for safety than handling or performance. It is no evo or sti by any means.

Race him and find out. I know that a bolt on PI car will rape a stock G35. 350Zs are faster. With your new mods and everything I think it would be a good race. That 350Z in the pic is one of the ugliest I have seen yet. It looks like a spaceship and it just all pure RICE.

 

The g35 and 350z are almost exactly the same car..just one is a wider wheelbase (g35) and is more luxury (g35). You shouldnt have any trouble with beating it, i play around with some that are modded with bolt ons and beat them no problem. You'll be fine unless suddenly he decides to drop a greddy TT kit on it or a vortech charger.

 

Compared to a Mustang? Yeah right, they are much nicer than any Mustang. Definatly not as fast as a Mach 1, Cobra, etc but they are still much nicer.

 

I like the mustang better too, but he was saying it was a piece of ****, implying its built like crap and sub par quality. Which its not, its much better quality of a car than a mustang, as far as build quality, materials, fit and finish, etc. That is all.

As for styling I like the stang better, but I would trade interiors with either a G35 or 350Z

 

Its not a nicer car. Maybe the interior LOOKS nicer, but when you think about it you can see that its just molded plastic. The interior has some nice curves, some flash, and all, but it is NO mustang. Who cares if the car comes with NAVI, a stiffer suspension, and an irs......THEY STILL WONT RUN. A 350z to me is more of an everyday all around car than the performance car everyone makes it out to be. Dont judge a book by its cover. Just because it looks nicer doesnt mean it is.

Mustangs have been around forever and there have been many many different styles to choose from. The 03 Cobras win ANY contest against a 350z! The older Shelby GT 500, the BOSS 302, the Saleen S-281E, The 00 Cobra R, the 93 Cobra R, come on man the list just goes on and on and on and on......

The 350z just came out a few years ago....:ban: Dont even try to mention the 300ZX because i will laught at you. sorry. There slow cars just admit it.

 

hahahahahaha, sorry im laughin at you for sayin the 300zx is slow. sure maybe the n/a one is. but the TT is the sh*t. calling a 300zx slow is like me calling a v6 stang slow. is your compareing the n/a 300zx to a gt, thats like me compareing a camaro z28 to a v6 mustang. and about the "Cobras win ANY contest against a 350z!" it wouldnt win any contest with quality against the 350z or a handleing contest. the cobra is a lawn dart, and the 350 is a slalom course car. you cant compare these two cars together. their strengths are in two different areas

 

i hear that...a 300zx TT is by far not slow! 300hp factory, now as 1 bad s stated the n/a 300zx is a dog like maybe 170hp.

Whatever you say man, I have had two mustangs (2004 GT and 1998 GT) and my mom and sister both have 2004 G35 Coupes. I can guarantee to you the G35s interior fit and finish and quality is MUCH better than either Mustang. I am not bashing mustangs here, they are great cars and give alot of power and performance for the $$, but there is a reason a G35 is $35K and a Mustang GT is $27K.

They are nicer than a mustang, Cobra included. Nicer doesnt mean better performance. Nicer refers to build quality, leather quality, etc. You keep talking about performance, but I never said anything about performance.

You are saying the mustangs you listed are faster, well of course they are. But speed has nothing to do with a cars quality or being nice inside. Hell an SRT-4 is a drivers race with a 350Z or 99-04 GT Mustang, but no one would call those nice.

If you have actually had some butt time in both cars there is no way you could say the Mustangs interior with its hard plastics, ****ty leather, partial vinyl interior, is better quality than a entry level luxury car.

That being said a 350Z 6 speed is a drivers race with a 99-04 GT 5 speed and the base prices are within a grand of each other. The 350Z would smoke a GT in the twisties and not break a sweat. It definatly will not outperform a Cobra, or the other special edition mustangs like Mach 1, etc.

When a car was built has nothing to do with its quality or performance for that matter.

 

I like the G35's much better than the Z's. I think the G35's are pretty much a luxury car with a little performance. Do I like them better than mustangs, NO WAY, but do they have much nicer interior and features...YES.

With that said I would never buy a car that comes with a freaking maxi pad in the safety kit. If any of the domestic cars start putting maxi pads in the safety kits I'll start riding a freaking bike everywhere I go.

 

Grimmz, Why buy a POS and make it fast? easy answer....i can buy a honda or some other import for $500-$1000 and spend maybe $3k and it's gonna be fast, you just gotta know how to build them.

BTW for everyones infor a G35 with bolt-on mods only puts out 246rwhp we just dynoed one less than an hour ago. All luxury thats what the owner said...he just wanted to see what power it had for being a luxury sports car.

 

Greg....go to the nissan dealer and look at a 350z again. Your an idiot they are NOT squared off....they are round, thats why they are a SPORTS COUPE. The 99-06 mustangs are squared.
