LSU - National Champions!!

They won it, they deserved it, shove it in your mouth and just swallow it. Hate all you want, cry all you want, make excuses all you want, they did what they had to do. SEC dominated the bowls, it is no myth. Only team that would have given LSU a run for their money would have been Georgia. Thank you and good night.

Great, this means we have to listen to that idiot Les Miles run his mouth oh and I'm pretty sure USC would match up very well against LSU. Do the SEC and Big 10 not play defense because USC's defense is MUCH better than both of those teams.

Anyway, congrats to LSU!

WyteKraka 01-08-2008 09:27 AM

oh i forgot about USC....that would have been a good game. but its easy to say USC has a better defense when they didn't play Ohio State or LSU. if their defense was so much superior.... being as sports writers and reporters have claimed Ohio St had the best defense and some said LSU had the best...... they shouldn't have lost any games at all.

nice user name by the way............oh and ROLL TIDE ROLL

injuries dude, injuries....we were playing a lot of 3rd string guys and finally were healthy for the rose bowl. Anyway, I'm not going to make any excuses, we lost two games.....one of which we should have never lost. That's why they play the games though.

Ohio St. has the best defense because they play a shit schedule.

besides the last year USC plays a shit schedule tho, the pac-10 stepped up this year but usually they are pitiful.

If I'm reading what you wrote you're saying USC has played a shit schedule over the years? Sometimes the pac 10 isn't the strongest and that's why we make sure to play a decent nonconference schedule.

In 2006 their nonconference schedule included Arkansas, Notre Dame, and Nebraska and Michigan in the Rose Bowl

2005 they played Hawaii, Arkansas, Notre Dame, and Fresno St. and I believe Fresno St. was ranked in the top 25 that year.

2004 included BYU, Colorado St, Virginia Tech, and Notre Dame

Should I go on. At least USC doesn't play division 1AA teams like some of the big ten teams. You can say whatever you want about USC, but there schedule is not weak. Compare it to Ohio St nonconference schedule.

I know OSU's non conference is god awful i tell them every year, (im a michigan fan) our out of conference schedule was ok seeing that App. State ended up like #33 and Oregon was good. ND kinda screwed us but they are a rival and are on their every year. And I wasn't attacking USC i know they are good, I just think they dont play the hardest schedule. Its not their fault though ND sucks, they are supposed to be good. VT and Arkansas are good but the other are kinda weak IMO

I hear ya, sorry for being so defensive....I however don't agree USC's schedule is weak. Our schedule is one thing we usually get credit for versus some of the cup cake schedules other teams have. It just sucked that Notre Dame and Nebraska sucked so bad this year....who would have ever thought. Next year we go to Virginia to open the season and then host Ohio St. the next week! YIKES

All I can say is "PLEASE"!!! No more Big 10 schools in the championship game for awhile, what a disaster these last two have been with Ohio State getting killed.

They deserve it???

Why is that? They lost to 2 unranked teams this year and beat a way over rated OSU for the title.Hell Missouri lost to top 10 OU twice and then stomped Arkansas who beat LSU.

hey now, if Michigan gets in they have no problem hanging with the SEC, its actually the SEC that has problems hanging with Michigan. Michigan is 23-5-1 lifetime versus the SEC and 7-3 in bowl games versus the SEC. Just the voters keep OSU at the top of the rankings all the time for some reason. Really its their fault they didn't drop OSU lower than 7 when they lost to Illinois this year. After all 6 teams ahead of them lost they were kinda stuck in their by default. Also, I think the big10 has a problem in bowl games due to the home field environment that happens a lot of the time for southern teams and the wait the big 10 goes through since their season ends earlier than others. They have decided to put in a bye week after week 8 to help with this. Many people from other conferences say they should put in a conference championship, the problem with this is the OSU vs. Michigan rivalry. Either OSU and Michigan would end up playing each other twice every year, back to back which would be a problem or you split the conference in 2 and risk not even having a OSU vs. Michigan game each year which would also be a problem because it is the biggest rivalry in sports except for Boston vs. New York. Most likely though Michigan and OSU would win each of their divisions almost every year though because I will admit the Big 10 has become pretty week as of late.

ill put $100 down michigan ends higher than #21

HokieStang00 01-09-2008 04:48 PM

I might challenge that one... they lost a lot of Sr. leaders in key positions. Will be hard to replace.

I think they'll struggle @ Penn State and @ Ohio State.
Michigan State is always a close game for them.

They have no OOC schedule, but maybe @ND could be a game if ND gets their shit together.

ya, but if Rich Rod can pull off getting Terrell Pryor(looking pretty good since Mallet transferred today) he will have a great start to run his spread offense. They have some good WR's coming in and of course the human highlight Sam Mcguffie....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4IJ17ODo_s

I would say keep the big 10 schools out of the rose bowl as well.....USC has whipped Michigan's azz the last two times and now Illinois....I'm just busting chops cause they will bounce back at some point. They just need to step up their non conference schedules so voters can see how good they really are.

HokieStang00 01-10-2008 05:00 PM

It doesn't help that USC usually gets the #2 or worse Big Ten team in the Rose Bowl. The only bowl that can't get over it's "great tradition".

WaterDR 01-10-2008 06:52 PM

Ok, I have have to say is "Irish in 2020!"

I agree on the tradition thing.....those old jack asses need to get with the program because they possibly could have had a USC vs Georgia match up, but they went with tradition. I'm not sure if it matters if it's the #1 or #2 team in the big 10 cause they both seem to get whipped lately. I actually feel bad for the Big 10 because the voters are going to stop sending their teams to the big games here pretty soon.

I've also heard the Pac 10 and Big 10 are the two conferences that are holding up any kind of plus 1 or playoff system from being implimented.

HokieStang00 01-11-2008 01:01 PM

I won't talk bad about the Big 10 as a conference... because the ACC is an eyesore. I have a feeling that even though VT loses half their team this year, they may be the frontrunner to win again next year... that's pathetic.

I've heard that same rumor about the +1... but don't understand how the Big 10 or Pac 10 could keep it from being implemented. I think the NCAA in general is against a playoff... not to mention numerous fans. Just when I thought that this year was such a mess, they would have to change something, people start saying that this year was so exciting, and playoffs would have ruined it. Oh yeah. Having to watch LSU, OSU, USC, UGA, VT, KU, WVU, and OU in a tournament would have been awful.

ha ha....yeah that would have really sucked! All these old farts need to go away so people with new ideas can start making some change for the better.
