Default Hi I'm New Here

Hi I'm a new member here , have been checking out this site for a while, like the format and you all seem like a great bunch of people. I am currently between cars and am looking at a newer (to me) mustang. Probably an 03/04 . Still trying to deside on a GT or Cobra, I have not been able to figure out which would be a better platform to do a sleeper kind of build , any thoughts??

Well I'm an old member who still feels new because I learn stuff from these guys every day. And I try and help when I can.

However, 03/04 cobra is one of my top 5 cars, and it's definitely the direction I would take if it's in your price range. Pulley changes, and a tune make crazy numbers for those cars. And when you add a Kenne Bell, you better watch out!

Nice to meet you.

For a sleeper, go with a GT. Everyone would expect that Cobra to be fast as ****.

^ It's true, but the Cobra will have the engine advantage if that's what you're looking for. You'll hit 500whp with less modification to a cobra than a GT, logic states.

Just go with the Cobra. If you get a GT, you'll want a Cobra shortly after. Everyone and their mother has a GT. Whats the point of a sleeper? To have an average looking fast car? So you can "surprise" those z28's at stoplights that you'll see maybe once in a blue moon? Get the cobra.

A Mach 1 or Cobra would both be great platforms for a sleeper build. Or you could go with a GT and swap out the 4.6L with a 5.4L.
