I am going to put a 5.4L 605HP crate motor in my 96 cobra.
No one makes long tube header, therefour I was wondering how much HP i would lose with shorties.
I already have a spec stage 3 clutch, Tko500, and a custom made strang 9" rear end. I will add a UPR front end. Thats another thing? What springs should I use? 175lb/150lb or something else.
I'm retired and haven't race since the 70, so I'm not too up to date.I know whats wrong with the motor I got. Well I have ever bolt on but she blows oil after 5000 Rpm. She is only putting out 270HP with the blow buy. Still turns a 103 at 13.26 with ofcourse ET streets.
The engin is going to cost alot, and if I could find someone that makes good long tubes, the money would be well spent.

Head on over to that thread-- it's for anyone interested in 5.4l swaps. R3dn3ck can probably hook you up with longtubes. I know he makes some damn nice ones for his 5.4 but I dunno if they'd fit the one you're looking at...

As for springs, everyone here seems to love H & R Super Sport Springs. I have Eibach Prokit springs, and they're great too. Here's a link to a list of springs for your year model.

Welcome to the boards! It sounds like you know how to make a car a beast!

For about $600, Kooks Custom Headers will make you a set for anything you want.
