Young n ready to learn

Hey guys first of all let me introduce my self my name is Jeff and i'm 16, enough said I'm in the process of owning my first mustang its a 94 Gt with more then enough miles on it lets just say its about 177k:-/ but the good news is its my girlfriend's uncles n its a one owner car and its been babied so for what its worth i thing i should pay the $1,000 n get the little pony. well this goes without saying but i've got big plans for this car but for now i just want to get it on the road the only major problem with it is the exhaust is pretty much junk which isn't bad at all because it gives me a reason to change it, but i was wondering what else to do first on a budget of about 2-4g's i;ve done all my research and was wondering what ya'll thought

thanks for your advice and always remember "Go Big Or Dont Go At All"~just my little motto

Wow, sounds like a GREAT car for a 16 year old to get started. Too many teens driving around in high-priced, new cars with no appreciation of them. Either they are burried with payments, or their parents bought them for them. I have a lot of respect for what you are trying to do, and you will no doubt have a high degree of ownership for this car. You are in a great position to learn so much by doing yourself.

In time, you will graduate to other things, but I assure you, you will never forget this one.

If you have a few bucks to play with and not sure where to start, if I were you, I would shop the classifieds here and at places like stangnet, modular depot, etc... When you see a good deal on something, jump on it.

I would start with drivability issues first. Is there anything that is currently broken or making noise? Deal with those issues first. Seems like the exhaust will need some attention too, then get started on "looks" stuff if it needs any attention. If the body, pain, and rims are in good shap, then you have a huge head start.

actually what makes this whole deal evern better is that the only things that are wrong with the car are the A/c doesn't work(not a problem i was planing on getting an elimination kit anyways), the cruise control has a snaped cable, and the exhaust but i was planing on changing that anyway because i've heard that that is one of the best thing you can do to a stock 5.0 and as far as the body goes theres only 2 minor paint issues, its got chrome 17's wraped with 245/45/ZR17's with 20,000 miles or so left ,not that that will last for long :angel5: thanks for the advice

The first mod I did was a cold air kit and headers with the H-pipe. Wow did it make a difference.
