Default FS: cams, gears, more

I am selling a set of Comp XE262AH cams. When I installed them I messed up the timming and bent some valves in the heads. Sent the car to ModularPowerHouse to have it fixed and decided to go with blower cams and race heads. Looking to get $425 obo for the cams. Also selling a set of 4.10 gears not sure of the brand or the mileage. These came out of a buddys 98 GT 8.8 had no issues when they were removed. looking for like $50 bucks obo cause I cant tell brand or mileage. Lastly I have for sale is a LFP intercooler resevior I got from a buddy, I was going to try to polish it and resell it but I dont have the time. looking for $100 bucks for the resevior.

These are great daily drive cams guys, there have been gains of 23rwhp on these cams from people on modular depot. Not peak power but on the powerband very nice cams if you ask me.

Thanks for the good word, cams are the best bang for the buck power wise other than N2O.

How would the cams fair on a stock bottom end 2V with the KB 1.7 up top?

I think I responded to your post on miles per hour about this. These cams will work with your setup and still make power but honestly a set of blower spec cams are going to be your best bet. They have proven to make the most power on blown setups, now knowing that and you still want to give these a try thats your call. You will have more lope with these cams but again that is at the expense of more power. You should also be conserned of reaching the limit of the stock bottom end here soon.

You will notice a lope. Not sure of your setup but I have Longtube headers O/R prochamber and SLP loudmouth catback and it sounded real mean. Comp says you dont need to replace springs since they are stage 1's but if you have higher milage it wouldn't hurt to replace them anyway. Comp stage 2 cams will make a little more power but you have to be very careful with Piston to Valve contact with those cams, they also recommend new valve springs w/ stage 2's plus the bigger you go the more streetability you lose.

Yeah, I don't know too much about cams. Was doing a little research on it. With the stock bottom end, I am looking for just a good lope. Granted the mod motors do better on cams that don't make that heavy lope, I just think it sounds bad ass.

I'll give it a thought. Thanks. And BTW, i forgot which thread it was I asked about them.

They will give you a lope I can tell you that. Let me know what you decide.

Vt cams are nice, I'm not trying to change your mind but these are also Comp's stage 1 cams, power gains should be around the same & you will save some money.

Well If I had the money right now, lol.

I have a few other things I need to take care of first.

If they're still for sale in June I'll be more than happy to take them off your hands! lol

seeing the pretty ugly scuffing on several lobes going to need cleaned up and such, I'll offer 150 + shipping.

Well Tim at miles per hour said these cams were fine for resale as they are & I trust his judgement. Should absolutely be fine without "cleaning up" the lobes. These cams literally have less than 5 miles on them. I paid close to $600 shipped from comp, $425 is a good deal. Thank you for your offer but I'll pass.

262's are the best cam out there for a daily driver. They make power all the way through your rpm range and they only lose out at the very top end to Comp 270's by 7-8 hp.. You will not lose driveablilty and they do not require new springs. I have seen cars make 290+ with these cams.

I was told about 6 hours with an experienced mod motors installer doing it right and taking time. That's the stage 1s
