How to set adjustable clutch?
 
I'm swapping out my SPEC stage 1 for a Centerforce II. I'm installing a full UPR adjustable clutch kit as well. Anyways I was wondering how exactly to tell where the firewall adjuster should be set at. Like how far off the floor should the clutch engage/disengage. I think incorrect adjustment may have contributed to my SPEC's problems and I dont want it to be an issue with my Centerforce clutch. Any help is appreciated.

what was wrong with your SPEC clucth? what were the symptoms?

Very rough clutch engage/disengage. TOB was extremely loud. eventually it could be heard even when clutch was not engaged. chatter was horrible.

I had a SPEC stage 1 clutch before I got rid of it for a Centerforce dual friction clutch.
The reason I got rid of the SPEC clutch after having it for only 1000 miles is because of the same symptoms your spec clutch gives you. I am 100% sure that the chatter and the squeeky TOB is NOT due to bad installation/cable adjustment. Simply, the SPEC clutch SUX. I know so many others that had the same experince with SPEC as you and I.

so..it does not matter where u have the enage/disengagement point at once u have the centerforce clutch in...it gonna be 147382978973289 times better.. no more chatter...and make sure u get the CENTERFORCE TOB. the centerforce TOB is teh best and do not squeek and does last

The spec TOB are also partly made of plastic, as the centerforce TOB is all metel... better quality.
