If you go the adapter plate route though.... I'll be a sad panda. The intake is almost here and so much better as a solution.

I'm already using a set of adapter plates, so I don't need another set. If I can sell off my adapter plates (and intake, but that should be easy), I'm in on that new intake. I'd really like to get a dyno soon so I can get a before and after, plates vs 5.4 intake.
I hate to be the test mule with the price involved, but I may have no other choice.

What kind of exhaust and heads do you have in place?
The reichard plates and the ebay plates are about equal in utility. The Reichard plates are billet and the ebay plates are cast. I don't think you'll have too much trouble selling off the plates.
Any of you guys need a set of adapters and not going with the HPS intake right away, you should reserve your place in the line to get copracr's plates and intake.

Got a PI intake lined up to turn into a short runner for a pretty good price. Anyone wanna donate one before I purchase this one to hack up?

Well my 5.4L 4v swap starts next Monday. Parts have been showing up every day and the tally on parts is growing. Expensive swap to say the least but should be a fun street car when done!

well i'm learning why everyone should wait til the company has long tubes ready. i'm having loads of fun with mine. today i found i made a small error and didn't take into account for the starter solinoid on the side of the starter. so i had to pull the passenger side off cut and mod the pipes to give me room around the solinoid.

Stock 01 2v 4.6 intake/exhaust, and stock 02 triton LB. I put a cheap CAI and OR h-pipe with a Summit brand 2.5" cat back.
Take a look at my Frankenstein:

this should be some motivation for rapping up those projects and or not losing faith.
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/7...1b0178b7fe.htm
about half way through is a single turbo 5.4l stang versus a TT GTO.
i've seen vids of it before and it was a bit dissapointing. stock heads and cams with a tiny turbo. now with ported heads cams and a decent sized turbo, it makes light work of that goat. and it even dead hooks from a dig
a must see

Thoughts yes, plans no. The 5.4 intake is gonna kill my car budget (the one my GF keeps in her head anyways). After that, it'll be a toss up between long tube headers and cams.
I'm thinking of doing some lambo doors on my GF's mustang, then she won't say shat about me doing some more work on my car. I'm devious

If you're going to do cams, do heads at the same time or it's worth very little.

Very nice saleenride, mine too is a 99 saleen clone and Im building a navi based engine too, although Im going for good power NA. The 5.4 2v I installed was a temp engine while building and getting the other ready. Got any specs on the navi engine? Like heads, cams, etc..?

I didn't port the heads at all, ran out of money. I have the whole FR500 cam kit installed in them. I thought I could build this for 7K and I have 14K in it already.

welcome to budget overruns... I had a few of my own. Started out doing it on a $1500 budget... now I'm looking at putting the cap at 10k.

Going from sohc 4.6 to dohc 5.4 was the biggest reason of the high price. So many little things that need to be changed.

r3dn3ck, how do you have a 5.5L? Is it stroked a little or just from being bored?

that's the monkey. It's technically something like 5.48L but it's easier to type 5.5L
