The chocolate milk could just be from condensation in the crankcase collecting there, I had alot of that on another car I used to have... but I think I'd find out what the rest looked like.. drain it if you had to..
Like half these other guys, I'm getting everything together waiting on the intakes. I'm actually gonna swap the motor I bought with the one in my dad's truck, a '99 F150 with a 5.4. It's got a bunch of miles on it and I'm pretty much replacing everything so I didnt feel right about rebuilding the other one with low miles. I'm gonna get that swaped that next weekend, cant complain for $350, then I'll start on that motor. About all I need is a set of pistons and rings (depending on what the bore looks like) probably gonna go flat tops, and do something about heads. I'm hoping to have it all together so I can just throw the intake on and go with it, then put the longtubes in later on. Thats pretty much the time frame I'm looking at.

anyone interested in a Roush supercharged upper intake? You'll have to make or purchase a lower box and put the blower on it but it's the biggest thing you need to do a blower job on a 5.4 car with adapter plates.
Anyone want to purchase? Single? Shakin? Morgan? MyIllwill?

i'm gonna go with this bad boy when i get the time to finish the long tubes.... its a one off piece and capable of 25psi. i'l go with the hps intake when it comes out. i might do a dyno test with the hps intake and the lightning lower/cobra upper with the blower....

How can we do this? I will definatly be a quiniepig for this one and am ready for whatever labor. If you guys can find the parts Ill be glad to give that PITA job a try. Will even modify the header(and take pics and measurements to boot) of what/if anything needed to be done. How can we possibly get one part from 2 diff companys?

Where and how long are the runners on that? I dont see the entrance? I doubt I will ever go blower on this engine with such high comp, but never hurts to have parts laying around ya know? What you want for it?

I thought I could use my lower intake in N/A from the Holley S/C setup. Just put a plate on top with the right bolt pattern for the stock intake plenum and should be fine. WRONG!
Would you believe it had no torque! I could however spin that engine to the moon.
The intake only had a runner length of about an inch.

I'll call up and ask. That's the easiest way. If we're willing to do the R&D for them hell I can't imagine them being any happier.

They're about 3" as near as I can tell. They're just radiused entrances on the perimeter with nice short tubes to the head ports. The thing is definitely going to need to be ported for maximum peak numbers but boy it'll flow nice with a 3L common plenum under it or a custom IC.
It's just a basic top half and it's going to need a skilled guy or a bunch of parts so I'd say the first guy to offer me 300 bucks plus shipping has themselves a new blower intake top half.
BTW, never underestimate how well the modulars respond to 10:1 and 10lbs of boost. The 4v's love it even more but 2v's respond well enough. Now 11:1 is just harder to tune but 10:1 isn't too bad on modest boost.

The holley lower could be modified with velocity stacks on the entrances for NA use... it'd still be a little less than perfect but it'd be better.
Perhaps after I'm done with the whole NA bit I'll swap you my 5.4 NA intake setup for your blower intake setup.

I'm sure its been covered but can I switch the short and long water pumps and still have the belt line up, with the appropriate pulley of course?

I might be reading incorrectly BUT i used the stock navi waterpump and used the mustang pulley and had no issues. I used all the mustang accy's.
However, one thing been bugging me. For the life of me I dont recall EVER hooking up a knock sensor on this engine or even installing one. They do have them right? LOL

Will 2 diff companys be down for this since were mixing and matching parts? As I stated earlier, Ill be glad to do the R&D and install. BTW, drivabilty is absolutly perfect with the stock tune and 5.4 install

for all those looking for a 5.4 intake manifold...
you can call up www.modularmustangracing.com and get one...
you have to use a lightning lower... but the intake is a low profile version made to clear the mustang hood they said... IE i just got off the phone with them...

They also have one for the navigator lower so thats a 4v option although says may not clear factory hood.
The one that uses lightning lower says can be used with or without factory intercooler so thats a good option..

I have the one with the Navi bottom. Don't know how it fits under a hood yet. Was told I would need a 3in cowl for it so I traded for a 3 1/2in cowl not know it would be 5in because they don't count the first hump.

The 5.4's had knock sensors but the mustangs don't use them. From what I understand they were never properly utilized in the cars they were equipped on. No worries. Leave em off.

You'll lose a huge amount of tq like that. It's a chopped up solution at best and it's 950 bucks. Wait a few weeks and get the HPS intake. At least it's a real solution.

intercooler on a NA is funny, if you're planning on a blower that is actually a killer thought but you'll still lose a bit of low end before the boost kicks in. Anyone with a centri blower should think about that MMR upper dealie...

ditto that copracr... my plates will definitely be coming up for sale soon. The intake may go back to HPS for their wall of fame.
