yesterday was a long day.
Anyway, the numbers I made on the dynojet were exactly the same as on the Mustang Dyno. 280/333 was peak on a hot lapped run. I did figure out that:
1. I'm out of injector and possibly fuel pump (time to install the Focus pump). Even if I could show higher numbers... I'm out of gas at the top end. It started leaning out pretty bad at 5800-6100rpm.
2. My intake is corked pretty bad. The adapter plates are a neato solution and they're great for about 280hp but you can see it lean over in the midrange where the intake flow just can't keep up. I did some math on it and it looks like the intake is only flowing 440 CFM through the adapter plates. The new intake should easily flow enough for mid 300's.

that sounds like a Maf problem not fuel pump, what size injectors are you using?

I'm pretty sure the MAF is fine.. it's reading right and supporting the flow, not pegging, not reading random values anywhere. The 21# injectors are at max duty cycle as it sits though and I saw fuel pressure dropping from 5800 on up to 6100. only dropped like 4-5psi but that's enough to tell me it can't keep up.
Gotta get some replacement pintle caps for my 32# injectors (couple are broken) and install the Focus pump and I'll go for another run. Not bothering with the Mustang dyno anymore though. It costs twice as much to run on it and I get exactly the same results.

Something is definately holding you back, mine made ~265/330 with unported heads and a PI intake through an auto trans. The plates are definately one reason, they are to make things simple, not for ultimate flow. I also noticed when looking at pics on your homepage that when you ported the 4.6 Hardball'r you put a 'knife-edge' on the runner entries, they would flow better with a radiused entry. Its hard to pull air from the sides over what becomes more of a wall....I can't say how much effect but definately not ideal for flow... Keep bugging Bob for that 5.4 intake.....

w00t. I'll try and post up the latest graphs tomorrow. I did hear from bob. He's been pretty busy but it looks like everything is happening on schedule. He seems stressed out right now. I think if my plates were thicker it'd change the angle less and possibly help output but I'm pretty sure they're a general restriction and need to be removed 300rwhp or better on a 2v to come out the back.
You shoulda seen the faces on the import guys at the shop when they saw the tq curve. no words of how strong their cars are... just wows at how much grunt there actually is to be had NA. They did talk about how unsatisfying it is to have 500hp civics that you can never drive cuz they're in the shop all the time. that was interesting to me.

I used a single Ford GT pump and it worked very well past 400HP, just had to do a few minor mods to make it fit in Mustang canister, but never had any problem with it at all, and I used it with a dry 100 shot and then later with the turbo setup on my 4.6L and 42lb injectors.

The drop in fuel preasure is the result of the higher rpm vacuum that your fuel preasure sensor is seeing. Not sure what programmer you are using but you can change the fuel preasure settings in Sniper software.

well, almost finished the headers and all i can say is what a PITA!!!!! it's gonna be hell fun getting the drivers side up in there with the steering linkage. just working with the welding and fabbing has made me understand why shops charge what they do for custom work. next time i hear someone bitch about a quote for custom work to thier car being to exspensive i'm gonna rap one of these headers across thier skull....
hopefully i'll get them done and the rest of the exhaust soon.

I made most of the parts on my supra and other cars of mine , I feel you dude. While the intercooler piping and intake was kinda fun to make, the header and 4" exhaust was a royal pita. Fuel system was cake, as was most of the rest. After you do it a few times you will get a lot more proficient. I can make a custom cold side turbo kit in about 2 hours start to finish(thats including the time it takes to guestimate what materials I will need). Biggest time constraint is having to work around not having the correct tools.
Stick with it bud, sounds like your doing great!

Little update on my car
Its now in the air with the trans pulled. Im going to pull or start pulling the engine tonight awaiting the navi engine to take its place. Going to pull the heads, throw a quick port on them and install the cobra cams. Going to pull the pan and a main and rod bearing to check for wear. Goodluck to the others and there projects, keep us updated!

I use it. It's exactly the same as the full blown tuner setup with the advantage software, live link&load and the uploader/chipburner software.
I'd definitely use the Xcal-2 PRP. The chip burner is a bitch sometimes. It takes me all of about 10 seconds to get a tune on my Xcal2 and it holds 3 tunes + your stock tune.

that turbo 5.4l never impressed me for some reason. idk the specs on the car, but he sure does lose a lot of races.

I can see that.. the GTO's had a great back seat for a muscle car.
Last I checked mustangs had child seat harness bungs on the package shelf. What's wrong with scooting the seat forward.

They do have the seat harness, I used to use it on him.
When he was in a rear facing seat there was no way anyone sat in the passenger seat, it was too far foward. My g/f had to sit behind me - it was teh loose but we made it work because the Mustang was our only car.
Now that she has her own SUV and hes foward facing, hes pretty comfy in my car and there is room for a passenger - but at the rate hes growing in 6 months it'll be time to upgrade, and if I can get some more horsepower and a faster car at the same time - well then hell sign me up.
