I tried to install a sct chip and when I did the car would not start. I cleaned the terminals off on the computer and everything but when I tried to start the car it sounded like it does when you try to crank it with the spare key that just lets it turn over but not fire. I really need help fast. I heard something about a JE3 port and it having something to do with the anti theft device could this be the problem.

 

pull the chip off i bet it starts. If so you need to clean the contacts on the ecu more.

 

If the device was programmed for a wrong processor type, it could cause this issue.

Probaly the best option would be to get a serial number for the chip and call SCT or where ever you got it to make sure it has the right program.

...........In other note I have seen burnt chips that do this as well as a PCM hiccup that just needed the battery needed to be disconnected for a bit.

 

The car will start without the chip but I wanted to know why it would not work with it. I calle dand they did tune it for the mde2 computer code which I have. I have cleaned the terminals very well, but I am just lost.

 

I had a chip in a Linc.MK VIII that did the same thing.The fix was to send the entire PCM to the chip maker and they went in and soldered a cracked wire in the circuit board.BTW the chip was a Superchip.

 

My shop tried to put a diablo chip on my 2000GT and it wouldn't take.after hours of research and trying diff. things, Diablo said every once in awhile a car just won't accept a chip. since then I bought a sct hand held and it works flawlessly.
