SLP X-Pipe install cost / performance?

Hi all, long time no post. Finally getting around to working on my stang again.

Currently have the SLP loudmouth catbacks and was looking to buy the SLP catted X-Pipe. What's a good install price? Also, eventually i'm going to get the long tube headers, but how much of a performance gain whould x-pipe alone put out? Im thinking probably just a few HP....but heres the real question:

I *love* the sound of the loudmouth. It's already nice and loud! How much will the catted x-pipe increase the sound? a little? a lot? The louder the better in my opinion!

Thanks!

If you're just doing the midpipe, do it yourself. I did mine in my garage on jackstands in about 2 1/2 - 3 hours start to finish. Don't be scared, just take your time. I am no mechanic but I thought it was pretty good for someone who never worked on a ford before. The catted x pipe will give you around 4-7 hp, going offroad will give 8-10. You will be louder but not as dramatically as if you went with an off road pipe.

With the SLP you can, since it's a modular design. You can buy the regular x pipe for now. Get the longtubes later and still use the same x pipe.

BTW, do the install yourself. It's real easy.

They are a very easy install didnt take me more than 2 1/2 hours and I was working by myself. You will love the sound. Now I am just waiting to get my lazy self to install those SLP headers in my room!

Yes you will not have to buy a new X-pipe. The SLP X-pipes are modular which is a 3 piece design. What that basically means is that there's 3 pieces to it.. the first piece is the x-pipe itself, the second piece is either the race pipes (for O/R) or the cats, and the 3rd piece is just the extended part for stock manifolds. It's the same thing as my short o/r x-pipe except mine didn't come with the extension at the end.

do the loudmouths sound ok with the stock mid pipe?
is it loud inside the car? (i want it to be pretty loud inside)
can u "feal" the exhaust when it idles?

just some ?? i had

when i had my stock mid pipe on with the slp's it sounded good. I mean it's not the loudest....but it really actually sounds good. But you won't go back if you put the mid pipe on....trust me on that. The idle is crazy with an off-road pipe.

i have to have on road though...
