automatic tranny

i want more out of my automatic tranny before doing the pi head/intake swap and vt stage 1 cam...i am thinking of doing a shift kit with a stall convertor...what companies would you guys recommend for these two products and what sites can i get them at?? what kind of prices am i looking at here and what rpm stall convertor for my 97 gt?? thanks

transgo shift kits.

and circle D performance for a convertor.

would you happen to know any cites where i can get these?? also...what rpm stall convertor?

okay this stall converter thing is way too confusing? so i think i am just going to go with a transgo shift kit from summit racing. Is this a good route to go??

yeah just be sure to get the one for the AODE tranny. as thats what you have.

Get at least a 3000 stall converter. And depending on your future mods might want to decide if you want a single disk or multi disk

what exactly is the difference?? and what would you suggest i go with by looking at my mods...the only other mods i plan on doing in the future are a shift kit, (maybe a converter), pi heads/intake, and a vt cam. After all of that a dyno tune. It would be great if you could even send me a link with a site that sells the exact converter you recommend...thanks

Just as I said in the other thread... The trans go is one of the worst things you can do to the tranny. The best way to go with the stock tranny is the J-mod, converter, and tranny cooler. Do a search on www.modulardepot.com for shift kits and the j-mod. As for stall speed this depends on your torque curve. Heres some more good info, http://www.tccoa.com/articles/tranny/index.html#
