Default engine install quote from local FORD Dealer...

The Dealer near me quoted me the following:

3198.00- Complete Engine Assembly (2000 GT 3yr/36k warranty parts and labor w/ no freight charge)
960.00- 12.8 labor hours for install @ 75.00/hr
4158.00- sub-total
250.00- taxes and shop supplies..
4308.00- total...

Sound like a deal?

Would you be planning on doing any mod's to the engine? If so, would the warranty still cover the engine? Maybe you could buy a long block and build it up on your own.

Yea, forget the warranty if you have ANY plans for mods. Get a built shortblock for that man, or like they said, at least an 01 cobra motor.

If I were in your situation, I would buy a mach 1 longblock and stick that in there. You can pick one up for 4995 from buyfordracing.com or just about any ford racing dealer.
