Some of you know about the spark plug ejection incident that happened about 3 weeks ago. (#6 cylinder)

Since then I've replaced the plugs, the fuel pump, injectors and bought a new coil-on-plug for that cylinder. Problem was it wouldn't idle and it was blowing fuel out the tail pipes (+ white smoke). Now it idles (searching) and then dies after about a min or two. So I'm going to change out ECU's this weekend to cover my butt, but do you think I'm overlooking something. More C.O.P.s? Fuel pressure regulator? O2 sensors? MAF?

Any help is appreciated.

If I were you I would not go much further w/o having all the COP's load tested on a bench. The COP's could be giving you a lot of grief and you dont realize it. You could either spend $50 - $80 having them tested, or drop $320 and have all of them replaced.

Finding someone who knows how to do this is not easy since mechanics these days have forgotten how to be mechanics and they can only read codes and do what the book says. Testing these COP's is easy, it just requires some thinking.

I had a mechanic test mine and he found one bad one and one questionable one. I replaced both.

Keep in mind that COP problems do not seem to cause a code for some reason. This happened in my situation and in at least one other with a Mustang that I know of.

white smoke means it was burning coolant. does your oil look like choc milk?

My oil is fine and my coolant is fine. I replaced the ecm and one C.O.P. and now it will idle for about 2-3 mins and die on it's own.

Still have smoke problem and still have excess fuel problem...
