whoever closed my thread and replied that it should answer my question it really didnt i was wondering if the saleen was a 2 v or a 4 v like a cobra are all the internals the same as a stock gt or cobra i dont care about the suspension i know the roush is a 2v i was just trying to compute how much they where charging over each stock version of each car the ariginally used

Ok, heres a brief explanation.
Saleen: S281: Mainly looks, maybe some underdrive pulley and an intake S281SC: Supercharged s281. S281 Extreme: I think it has a built block, but I know it has a bigger supercharger and much more hp than the reg. S281. All the saleens have suspension work, but its mainly looks unless you buy a supercharged car. Yes, you can get a 4v cobra, but they are very, VERY rare. Most are 2v, and of course, now with the new mustang out, 3v's. Roush: Stage one: Mostly looks, similar to the base s281 Saleen Stage two: Same thing, no supercharger yet (to my knowledge, its doesnt come until stage 3) Stage three: The big boy, better brakes, suspension, supercharged, lots o' power. Hopefully this helps a little. The best place to find the answers to your question is google. Dont buy a new saleen or roush, or you will get raped. ESPECIALLY a base 281 or stage 1. All it is is a body kit and some rims/suspension work. The reason I closed this the first time is because you asked the same question in another forum. |

The Cobra Saleen mustangs were only avaliable during the 94-98 body style. There was an S-351 That had a 351 ci. engine. There are no Cobra Saleens from 99-present. The S-281E has a built 2V engine. The S-281 Has lowering springs, high performance shocks, minor suspension components, various braces, and better brakes. The S-281E has the same mods as the S-281 but comes with better control arms to handle the 400+ hp.

not true you can get 03-04 cobras as saleen modles.
And the regular s-281 has lots of performance mods. filter,pullets,long tubes,mid pipes,catback,tune,gears,shifter etc..... i know i used to detail one every weekend in the keys. i almost bought it too for 15k last year.

can you tell by looking at a saleen if its supercharged? I always hate feeling inferior when I see them when half the time I could probably beat them

yeah it says S-281 then supercharged under it on the badges.

there were only 17 03-04 cobra saleen mustangs. and i think they were all roadsters.

Yea you can def get a 03-04 cobra saleen. Im almost positive that they dont all come with longtubes though, cause those are illegal in cali, maybe they were owner installed Spike???

well i went and looked it up after last night they are all 2 valve the 281sc and the 281e forged steel crankshaft forged steel rods forged aluminum pistons aluminum heads super duty valve springs 42 lb injectors 11" flywheel 6 speed transmission and 327 gears and of corse the v screw superchargeron one and none on the other
