1 push it to the gas station air pump,
2 put hose into oil fill cap
3 inflate engine until dent pops out
4 try starting again
5 buy new car

What do you mean, theres electrics? Also, did you run over something? Or hit something? Battery dead? COP bad?

WaterDR 10-09-2005 06:44 AM

Yea, did the dent just get there? Were you driving it when this happened? What do you mean not running right and you had to shut if off?

Simply a dent in an oil pan should not affect anything unless the oil all drained out.

Going to need alot more info before we can help on this one.

Update on the situation right now.......Car can run but I really dont want it to right now because I was driving home in the rain and apparently there was a rock broke off the median hit the front of my oil pan..........Theres a big ass dent in it.....If i'm correct I need to replace the oil pan and some other component...there might be a bent pin of some sort? SO yeah......right now i'm taking my oil pan off.....theres gotta be a easier way

OK final descion on what to do..........Basically after freaking out.......I'm going to leave my car at my house this weekend ....it will be towed to a shop...this will be the saddest moment of my life.......I figured out what the problem basically is oil pan got dented pretty bad....this means I will need a new pan...pick up and gasket.......and the labor I don't have the time to I already drained the oil and unbolted the pan so it shouldnt take to long to get the new one in. So whats everyone think of my theory and plan?

Get your insurance involved. Road debris generally have no deductable.

So maybe I could get insurance take care of it. Road debris doesnt fall under that catagory does it? That would be cool i'm just thinking how much it would be and if it would be even worth it to get them involved I dont want my premium to go up.

Dont get your insurance involved. They will deny any type of help unless you get mad. They could also jack up your premium. Just pay for it and do as much of the work you can, yourself.

All I did was pop the oil pan off I didnt have time to take care of anything else I was too p/o....It should be $35 for a oil pan....$25 for a gasket...and another $20 for the pick up in the pan then what ever labor is Does anyone know if AAMCO does engine work too I think they do but they have free towing.. God what a miserable weekend....
