Can a ford dealer bump up my timing? I am not sure if they have any programers to do that.

If they can how much can I safely advance it without a tune? I dont mind running 94 octane. My motor is stock other than underdrive pulleys. I have an off road h pipe and 4.10 gears.

I work at a Ford Dealer and we have no way to alter ignition timing. You will need a Programmer or a timing adjuster. How far you can advance your timing depends on your local fuel quality and your vehicle. It will be something you will have to expirament with.

The only time I have heard of a dealer changing timing is when someone has bought a steeda blower from an authorized ford dealer. The installation includes a new ECU. But that's replacing the ECU and not really reflashing it.

WHEW, bet they paid a PRETTY penny for that kit...man do the ford dealerships around here like to give you the shaft...they wanted 532 bucks for LABOR on my rear end gear install. Found a reputable guy to do it for 200 bucks...man I get them back tommorrow...cant wait!!!!!

How do you think they can afford to pay the service manager 150K a year??

As an "over-paid" employee for a large corporation I can tell you that many times my customers pay a premium for my services. One of the reasons is the word "liability". A Ford service center has that to offer.

hey man just get a steeda t/a. I've heard that they work great, and you don't need a tune, just a little time to mess around.

I have piggyback style underdrive pullies. I dont think you can put on a timing adjuster with that set-up. I think u have to have the steeda underdrive pullies.

get a programer, that will do it plus a whole lot more.

Hand held programmer or a t/a will both do fine but just listen for the ping, our engines like to go BOOM if we let them ping too much.

Just go out and get a programmer, I have one and can tell you that they definitely help out in the performance dept. :D You do have to run premium, but you already said that you don't mind that.
