Question Fuel Pressure trouble

I have a 01 mustang with the 5.0 stroker kit. I was going the the track last week and had to wait in line down the road at the track to get in. We were waiting with slow movement for 20min. As i got to the gate, i noticed my fuel pressure gauge showed 60psi and was holding steady. Usually the car runs at 38-40 at idle and lower rpms. The fuel pressure dropped to 20 and the car started sputtering. I pulled through and shut the car down. I opened the hood and everything seems warm even though my engine temp gauge shows normal. Everything fuel related was too hot to touch. I was wondering if anyone was having trouble with the fuel boiling and going into some kind of vaporlock. After i let the car set for an hour, started it up and pressure was perfect. I made two nitrous runs and went the 45min homes with no signs of trouble, but temp was 15degrees cooler. I have drove it around town since then and no trouble. Tonight i was about to the track and i noticed my gauge was close to 50 and holding. I ended up not running, but when we went to leave my pressure was back to normal. Any ideas what this could be or how to fix it. Thanks

i thought about cutting the vents in my cobra r hood to allow the engine compartment to breathe. Also i wonder if i can insulate around the regulater to keep it from getting heat soaked.

Your not going to vapor lock EFI. But 60psi at idle is way to high. Something is not right at all. Mine idles with 20-23psi at idle with a focus pump. I wonder if your fuel pressure sensor is going out.

I dont know what it could be. The Fuel Pump Driver could be causing some amperage issues. If the FPS is starting to go south the car would practically be crippled.

the car only acts up on very hot days and after driving for a long period of time. I have drove it over an hour last night and was quite a bit cooler, and no troubles at all. Seems like it has to be sunny, somewhere like 75and above and i have to drive it for a while. (car is all black so soaks up sun heat quickly.)

today i drove the car on cooler weather and drove it for 20 min and the pressure started to rise. It stayed at 50. I stopped at the bank and when i starting driving throgh town, it went close to 60. I drove it home and on the way it started to go back down and evened out at 50psi. I let the car cool down for a few and come out later and the pressure will be back to normal 38.
