new intake

my car is a 99 gt. I bought a new intake off of ebay brand new. took my intake off and set them next to each other. my stock intake sits like an inch taller than the new one- the height difference is all in the bottom part of the intake. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3D10%26ps%3D63
thats the link to the one i bought- however the picture on their is identical to my stock intake but the one i have been shipped is not that one in the picture! will it make a difference if it is shorter? powerloss?

Is there a reason you went with this knock off instead of the OEM from AM
http://www.americanmuscle.com/intake-manifold.html

With your member discount and free shipping, it would have been cheaper.

The difference in the height of the intake should not be a major problem. Does the new intake seem like its lighter because the material is thinner? if so I would send it back and get the OEM one.
Good Luck

totaly diddnt realize AM sold it, i paid 189 shipped to my door but that 5 dollar savings certainly isnt why i bought on ebay..i woulda rather give AM my business! doesnt seem lighter just seems shorter, im worried its not a real PI intake- im thinking its the one for a 96-98 stang non pi motor car.

for parts like these i would always go OEM...

we gave you all the info you needed but still went that route.

Good luck!

So...again, I ask....

We get a member discount?
Did I miss something when I joined this site?

we all get a forum discount...PM AM nick and ask about it.

sweet deal. Wish I had known that when I got my intake.
Sure ought to make things cheaper for my girlfriend and family when they order my chip for my bday/xmas. I may hear less bitching about the price. haha.

I asked this question when I called in my first order and was told NO. The discount is only if you belong to a car club. How true that is idk but I've spent a few hundred without any discount.
