will i need a tune after install of CAI and offroad X?

hi i just bought a stock 2000 mustang gt with an exception to magnapack catback exhaust, will i need to have my car tuned if i installed a cai and an offroad X pipe? thanks:)

No the Pre 05+ cars do not need a tune for mods like this. They are not nearly as sensitive as the newer cars are. Just bolt on and enjoy the power. Of course your going to make more power with a tune for all the mods.

i'd recomment a tune. it's not a necessity but it'll optimize the gains. i have a 96 GT and it came with BBK CAI, BBK X-pipe w/high flow cats, and flowmasters. After I had some custom tunes loaded it really made a difference.

No. I didn't tune mine afterwards. I want to but it's not necessary.

You will have to do something for the rear O2 sensors, I never had any luck with MIL eliminators so the only other way is a tune or programmer to turn them off.

I just installed a mac offroad h pipe and now I got an exhaust leak on the passenger side by where the header and h pipe connect, I'm guessing a gasket is needed?

spike_africa 07-06-2009 07:21 AM

There is a gasket that goes there, but they are reusable. If yours is leaking I would replace the gasket and re-tighten the whole deal down again.
