Default Need Speed-cal help

I need help finding info on speed-cal
i just installed one on my 97' gt and it is still not correct
all i can find is this http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/musta...g/speedcal.pdf
which only gives me original gear ratio to new gear ratio
what i need is more info like tire size and which gear to use on the vss

what i have is a 1997 gt that had 3.27:1 gear ratio (read off the tag on diff. cover) now it has 4.10: 1 gear ratio. On the Vehicle Speed Sensor is an orange colored plastic gear(is that the correct one to use?). and my tire size is 255/55/R17

someone that knows something i dont please help me out im sick and tired of puting ghost miles on my car an not know how fast im going thanks a ton

97 should still use the mechanical speedo. So to correct it, you need to get the right drive gear.

my 1997 gt has a mechanical gear in the trans. on the end of the vss but the vss sends out an electronic signal. i just dont know the details of SPEED-CAL.

i just bought it from Brothers Performance and it didnt even come with instructions i had to look up that from American Muscle

just thought that someone might have had this same issue

You have 3 problems here. One is that you have the wrong sized tires on your car. Two is that you have the wrong speedo gear for your car in the tranny. And three is that you spent money on something you don't need.

You never said if your car was auto or manual so I'll tell you the tooth color for both.
Manual- white 23 tooth speedo gear
Auto- Black 23 tooth speedo gear.

To compensate for the 4.10 gears in your car you need the White 23 tooth speedo gear, and then install the correct height tires and you are good to go.
