Throwin codes
 
Hey,
So my car wont stop throwing emissions codes. I keep throwiong PO430, PO133, and PO153. that doesnt make any sense though because I have a catted H-pipe and my O2 sensors are plugged in. I keep clearing them with my diablo but the keep comming back. How do I fix this?

PO133 and P0153 are being thrown because your o2's arent being given enough time to heat up, tune related, i dont know what the other code is. i just did a quick check and from what i can tell is that your rear o2 sensors are probably still turned on. so actually your o2 sensors are doing their job

if your car is tuned for the long tubes than i suggest you calling your tuner and have them email you a new tune to fix your closed loop time and to turn off your rear o2 sensors.

if your car isnt tuned for all the mods you have in your sig than i suggest you get that done because your car must be getting some shitty gas mileage.

P0430 is the code for a bad cat (passenger side) and the other two indicate the front sensors have a slow response. If your sensors are old, there's your problem. Other things to check are exhaust leaks and for the rear sensors, if you put them back on correctly (the rears are side specific). Also make sure none have any blockage or dents in the sensor portion.

The tune should have nothing to do w/ it. I've had Hookers for two years and the only time I threw a code was when I had a leak or a bad sensor (and Hookers use thinner tubing at that).

if the front o2 sensors arent in the stock location chances are they are not getting to their proper temperature to read correctly when the ECM goes to open loop. those hookers you had for 2 years probably retained stock location.

my car has stock manifolds but i have thrown those slow response codes due to my tune from the supercharger.

but im sure your right, i'll just go back to living my life.

My Hookers had 30" primaries which placed the O2 sensors in the collectors, they were no where near the stock location. Plus Hookers use thinner 18 gauge tubing so it retains less heat thus causes the sensors to not warm up as well (I would always get codes in the winter for this reason, especially if I didn't warm up the car). The point I'm making is switch to long tubes isn't going to need a tune to fix anything. It'll help you get the most out of the car but the code problem has more to do w/ a possible exhaust, bad sensor, or clogged sensor.

Well the o2 sensors are new. I had to pick up some Bosch sensors. I forgot that 04s needed an extra set of extensions and even with those I still had to pick up some sensors that were longer than stock. Could this be the problem??? That theyre not ford parts? Im not sure how reputable bosch is as far as o2 sensors go. As for the PO430 (bad cat)...that sucks because Ive got prolly only 7-8k on that midpipe...to me its not worth fixing or relacing. With the tune...Ive got a diablo 93 tune...waiting on the heads and cams til I get it professionally done

Randy (the parts guy) always said our cars are very finicky w/ the O2 sensors and to use only OEM Ford sensors. Ask him if using aftermarket sensors will trip this code. As for the cat, either ignore it or check to make sure the right sensor is on the correct side. If you used Bosch all-around, this might be the problem for the bad cat code. I know when I had my headers I'd get a bad cat code once in a while even though my cat was good all because the shop that put the cats on swap the sides the sensors were on.
