Rpm issue
I have a 03 gt thats stock beside flowmasters. The problem is when I shift the rpms wont drop for about 2-5 seconds after I have pressed the clutch in. I havent been able to find an vac. leaks. It only does it while driving. I can rev the engine while parked or stopped and the rpms go down fine. Any clue on what this is?

almost sounds normal to me? 1-2s before it starts dopping, 3-4s before it goes under 2k if you shift at 4-5k. but then again, if it takes that long when you shift at 2-3k then yeah, sounds fishy. I suppose it could be a sticky IAC valve... but i dont know why it would work under no load. has it always done this? (i ask because) i have a spacer plate installed between my throttlebody and my IAC valve and it has screws where i can adjust it to control a vacuum leak which causes the car to do what your's is doing... but i bought that and put it in...

No I take my foot off the pedal and sit it on the pad next to the clutch (it gets tiring holding a size 15 above a pedal for any good amount of time) It could be the clutch is going due to the fact that it as 108k on the clock and counting every day. Not sure if its the stock clutch I got it with 105k on it. But I do plan on replacing it soon just to upgrade.

Unless you really trash it, 50-70k is a very low life time for a stock Ford clutch. On average, you should get 100k and if you're nice, even more.

It sounds to me like a normal issue that a lot of stangs have. You could try a IAC restrictor plate that usually makes the rpms shoot right down as soon as you press the clutch in. Mine did this before and as soon as i bought the IAC restrictor it changed it immediately. I would say do that first b4 you start going into replacing a clutch.

totally not related to your problem.. but i had to chime in on the clutch issue... mine died at 69k.. driven hard, and my g/f's has just over 60k and hers is getting weak... plate is still good, but clutch springs mechanism is dying.
