Check Engine Light /cry

This is going to sound like an idiotic question, but my Check Engine light comes on everytime I fill up at the gas station, I keep having to bypass the code, because it's for my Gas Cap. I make sure it's on firm before I close the fuel door and all that jazz.

Any ideas why it keeps doing it?

Maybe the seal on the gas cap.

Maybe its cracked.

Maybe theres a bad sensor?

Who knows! Inspect that shit!

Buy a new one from Randy.

No, gas tank is fine, it goes by fast ^^ but besides that, the check engine light goes on every time I open the gas cap. <_<

ok, understand... as stated above you may want to take it to a dealer as there are several TSB's on this and I can't remember which ones att, but a Fuel Vapour Cannister comes to mind, basic part # "9D653"

They actually fixed the Fuel Vapor Cannister the first time the check engine light came on, apparently it was completely shot. * keep in mind this is 2 days after I bought it *

So now I'm up shit creek without a paddle. Lol

Do you over fill the tank or do you stop when the pump shuts off? Try not to top the tank on the next fill up. Leave it a little low.

ok, I understand but they have had several revisions of that part, just in the last 6 months;)
and in addition to the canister, there is a TSB for the fuel tank and fuel filler pipe as well, thats why I asked if you were having problems filling the tank...still both of these parts could be contributing to your problem

Be sure to turn the car off (engine not running) before you remove the gas cap.
