Grinding noise

I recently bought a 03 mach 1 and car drives GREAT!. Alot of power. Only has 35k. The problem is a small grinding noise when driving in gears. When the clutch is in... no noise. but when in a gear... noise. i do not believe it does it in reverse. I was told this was normal for a mustang tranny to be a little noisy. it does not seem like it is hurting my performanceof my car or holding me back from going into gears. any one heard of this? Itook it back to the dealer ship they said that is how it is but i do not talk so. help?

is it comming from the rear of the car? it might be the gears arent set right. i got new gears in mine awhile back and it did this then i took it back and got it fixed.

Do you have a short shifter? The transmission noise is more pronounced with a short shifter. There are gaskets you can get to help elimante the noise if it bothers you.

V6 Mustang Power - It does not sound like it is coming from the rear end.

03Mustan gt - Yes i do have a short shifter. Gaskets are expensive? Does this hurt my car at all? It does not bother me. My pipes cover the sound it. I just do not want it to cause problems.

Thanks for the quick reply

It doesnt hurt the car. The lack of rubber bushings in the A/M shifters tend to transmit tranny noises. http://stangshiftergaskets.com/ I put these on and got rid of most of the tranny noise.
